Ruby Sunday (early 20s, absolutely loves the doctor and trusts him completely, kind of naive and well-intentioned and willing to see the good even in the biggest assholes so she's easily taken advantage of), Belinda Chandra (around 30, has spent years dealing with asshole men and asshole bosses, sees right through bullshit, has no patience for it, and pulls a grand total of 0 punches when calling it out, apparently has a maternal/protective streak to her?), the Doctor (incredibly charming and smart, also carries more issues with him than the human mind can handle and is the one in nominal charge)

just thinking we coulda have a 3-person tardis team with Belinda increasingly concerned with the risks Ruby is willing to put herself through due to her trust in the Doctor, and seeing it as further proof that the Doctor is by no means trustworthy, and also trying her damnedest to make Ruby see that, meanwhile Ruby is constantly tryng to convince Belinda how wonderful and amazing the Doctor is. And the Doctor's just like, ignoring there's any tension on the Tardis at all. coulda made for a different dynamic I think

Okay, I need to talk about the latest Steven Universe.

I made the mistake of watching it on my lunch break at work and I literally had to go to the bathroom to compose myself. It hit me so fuckin hard. This show continues to get better with every episode, and this one turned it up a notch. Where do I even start?

First of all I love that we’re starting to see Steveonnie evolve into her own character, spurred on by the growth of both Steven and Connie. Connie has come so far from the girl trapped in a bubble underwater, afraid that she’ll die without ever making any friends. It goes without saying how badass she’s become, and to think she’s now capable of FLIPPING A KID OVER HER SHOULDER. 

And then there’s Garnet, who continues to be my favorite character. Even though they didn’t speak, we learned so much about Ruby and Sapphire- everything that was established in Key Stone Motel was expanded upon with nothing but gorgeous animation thanks to the guest animator from Studio TRIGGER.

“Here Comes A Thought” is easily my favorite song of the series so far. Not only feature the imensely talented Estelle and AJ Michalka, but it’s message of introspection has already helped me with the depression and anxiety I’ve been dealing with as of late. 

AND STEVEN. Oh my god steven. Boy has he grown from the little boy upset about ice cream sandwhiches at the beginning of the series. I was not expecting him to break down like that. I never thought about the impact that the events of Season 3 would’ve had on him, only because as I keep underestimating how psychologically complex this show is willing to go. Sure this is a kid’s show, but it’s so much more than that.

One last thing- The Spirited Away reference at the end was what did it for me. I had to pause the episode because it hit me so hard. God damn this show is so good. Rebecca Sugar is so fucking brilliant.
