@ the entire cookie run fandom you should totally vote for Croissant Cookie, Gingerbrave, and Timekeeper in the Cookie of the Year thing.

They are the friends (it’s canon the clock told me themself). What’s the point of some of them moving on to the next round if the others don’t?

Thought it’d be fun (and it gives Marx an excuse to infodump about music again), so-

Best and worst (or favorite and least favorite if you like them all!) songs from each area in Mad Rat Dead! Maybe reblog/add on your own rankings? Haha, jk, unless?

1 - Marx and I would say that the best song is probably Rat’s Dream, but TK’s pretty insistent on Mad Rat, Alive. It’s like.. almost their theme at this point /hj

We’re all in agreement that Cheddar Chaser is the weak link here, though.

Bad Feeling gives us bad vibes and that boss fight overall scares us so much!! It makes TK very upset, so while the song’s a bop, they’ve placed it at the bottom of their ranking-

First three songs are among the best in the game, and I love how they establish the main characters. TK said these songs feel “like home”.

2 - ElectroQtie is shockingly good, but in the end I’d say Ghost of Culvert is the best. All of the second area songs are great, but.. maybe Cheesy Trap is the least good. They all have a pretty cohesive quality and theme, it’s hard to pick!

This segment has a really.. I don’t know “jazz/swing” feel to it that, while significant throughout the whole game, really takes center stage here; it also sounds fittingly haunted-

3 - Probably a tie for the best between Yellow Invitation and Plash Plop Gurgle. TK definitely says Plash wins, but the title alone is very.. squick haha.. Stilton is the worst, hands down. It’s like.. the less interesting version of Yellow Invitation.

This area is kind of boring to us, though.. kind of a rehash of the lab but.. wrong.. and it majorly scares TK :(

4 - Call Me Jack is probably the best here!! Dark Fear is also pretty good. I really like how this area begins and ends with the meeting and then befriending of Jack/Dark Fear. Apparently Dark Fear sounds like a Kirby midboss stage to Marx; guess he’s an expert on that /lh

Underground Hug.. it sounds neat but it makes us a little anxious sdfgh

Chaource is.. not our favorite. This area was just a tad boring overall, I think. Marx said “too much grass, too much light”, and.. I suppose he’s right-

5 - Sweet Trip is a really good one!! TK loves the clock sounds.. Marx does, too, but they tend to make him tired (which he vehemently denies lol).

I’m kind of neutral about most of these; they’re good, but.. just nice to listen to; not many specifically spark any vibes. Visually it’s the best area in the game, in both the first and second segments; we really love cityscapes and night scenery.

Mimolette has high energy (and this is probably where we started noticing that a lot of the titles are names of cheese). High energy, kind of happy sounding songs tire Marx out to listen to, but TK seems to enjoy it! They said that Mimolette sounds like a friend-

Neuchatel is also great, though!!

6 - Another one that’s hard to pick, nooooo! Mad Rat Heart, though.. both the story significance and the song itself... it’s the best in the game (TK disagrees, oops).

The songs here kind of have slight Kirby vibes to us for some reason, so while they’re all pretty good, they have such a different vibe from the rest, it’s hard to compare them. We can’t mark any of them as a least favorite, honestly. I don’t know. 

Maybe Neo Opportunist? In terms of how interesting they are, Mini Moon is probably the most “boring” (TK simultaneously agrees and wants to mcmurder me for saying that), but it matches the style of the previous songs better and is kind of like a “calm before the storm” Also the second half slaps sdfghjk. They’re just all pretty good-neutral. We can’t agree-

The credits theme/Outside just stabs us in the heart, though-

And Mini Moon sort of reminds us of it, aaaaaaa-

Anyway, all of the songs in this game are good; it’s been a while since we’ve loved almost every song in a game.

Hmmmmmm, (I feel like it should be canon that)  headcanon that, in order to make amends, Timekeeper Cookie begins to protect Gingerbrave from then on following the events of Operation Timeguard. If you can glance into the timelines ahead, it’s easy to keep one little cookie safe.

Yes, I know that their canon relationship chart lists them as being hostile or at least angry towards Gingerbrave, but for all we know that may just be during/directly after Timeguard. 

Anyway Timekeeper is Gingerbrave’s time guardian friend now, they told me themself.
