Day 8 of EDS Awareness and Invisible Illness Awareness Month. Today I'm going to introduce you to my friend Mallory. Mallory is really inspiring she battles every day with Fibro, hypermobility and more, and she's a foodie enthusiast. I'm proud to call her my friend. #instafriends #instabuddies 🦓♥️🦓♥️🦓♥️🦓♥️🦓♥️🦓♥️🦓♥️ . "Hi, my name is Mallory and I have hypermobility. I've been flexible since I was born and put into gymnastics early on (but pressure from my coaches made 5 year old me uncomfortable so I quit around age 6) and then dance. It didn't cause problems for me until age 14 when I sprained my ankle for the first time. Since then I've been much more prone to injuries, reinjuries, and slow healing. I've sprained my right ankle 3 times before surgery and once after, dislocated my right shoulder twice. . With countless subluxations, and because of my repeated ankle injuries I have hip subluxations. In addition to these injuries, hypermobility causes my fibromyalgia. Its a daily struggle struggle with pain and injuries but ultimately I'm stronger than my illnesses! Right now it's unclear what is causing my hypermobility but we do know I don't have EDS.
