the original is in french, yeah, but there’s an english translation available here! it’s free n’ all so not much else to say about getting it, and i can personally guarantee the dl links at the bottom of the first post there aren’t gonna put any garbage on your computer or anything

Oh you work at a hotel too? I feel your pain hotels are wild. I've got plenty of interesting stories to tell. Don't worry it'll all work out! If you end up out of a hotel job at least the skills you've developed/learned on the job are very sought after and really help spruce up your resume!

Yes, I’ve worked in the hotel industry for, what? 4 years total? I have a ton of experience so getting another hotel job should be easy, BUT! I hope I never ever have to get another “real” job again. I plan on making acting my main income in the next year, at the longest.

I’m sure we could swap oodles of stories :P

Uh oh, is everything okay?

it... will be? At least I hope so, haha. My plan was always to leave, so this isn’t a huge deal, just.... sooner than expected. I intended to work through the end of August and then switch to background work/flexible work like Lyft. I thought I had a month to plan everything, but...

So basically what happened is this: I was out of the office through Saturday morning, because I had spent the week prior helping my mom move to Colorado. My dad and I flew into San Diego at about 11:30PM Friday night. So I go into work Saturday afternoon, everything seems fine! Boss still hasn’t picked a new schedule that we will switch to, so I just assume we’re sticking to the current one for now. Whatever. My boss asks me if it’s okay if I train Maria for a few hours. I’m like, sure, no problem. She stays until about 6:15PM (it was a super slow Saturday evening, despite the fact that we were sold out).

At 11PM, my boss drops off the Night Auditor and comes into the office. I’m preparing to leave, and notice that he’s hanging about but not doing anything, so I ask him what’s up. He says he wants to talk to me. He proceeds to tell me how they want Maria to start working my shifts ASAP, then asks when I was planning on leaving. I tell him the end of August, he asks for specifics, I say August 31st. He says again that they want Maria working my shift, so is it okay if she comes in tomorrow for the 3 to 11 shift, and they’ll call me if they need me?

What fucking choice do I have, dude? I STILL get pissed when I think about it. He didn’t even give me a week; he could have said “oh we’ll start her next Sunday on your shifts”. It was just, wham bam, SHE’S TAKING YOUR JOB NOW OKAY BYE.

I was super unprepared for the entire thing, really. After I agreed to stay through the end of August for THEIR sake, so they could train someone when it wasn’t as busy, they train someone behind my back, like LITERALLY IN SECRET, and then give her my job without a backward glance? Without even a cushion of time for me to adjust to losing my job? Fuck. I had planned on another 4 weeks or so of pay! And now I gotta reorganize my finances and shit. I mean, I’ll be fine, but still!

So anyway, yeah. I am no longer working :D

A lot of the codex entries say the drell are thriving but that seems hard to imagine
