has anyone else been noticing artists on spotify release new "songs" that are just a bunch of ai slop?? Ive been listening to these artists for a long time they DO make real music.. and all of a sudden theres ai on their profiles?? The artists I've seen this happen to are Sodikkin and Starry Cat so far, I'm sure this has happened to other artists as well. Is spotify putting ai "music" on musicians profiles without their permission???

When you make a playlist, you now have the ability to put an image on the thing! (Like Spotify! I can't remember when this was added though. Also ironic cause spotifys yucky too at the moment...)
But you wanna know what was right by it? "ai generate a cover" haha fuck you. At least spotifys "make your own cover" isn't using AI to my knowledge

Spotify mass produces AI "artists", covers, and songs on their official playlists. Here's a guide for spotting them.
Firstly, looks like the AI can only produce slow and subtle genres. Metal, rock, and punk, and adjacent genres are safe.
The artist name will be First name Last name, may include a number group as well (e.g. trio).
AI artists sound similar to other AI
Their covers are AI. Some can be hard to spot. See other guides for recognizing AI art
They won't have music from before 2020.
The covers have a generic font.
It's only the official playlists, not your mixes.
