For those of you wonderful folks that have been following my thread for awhile, my apologies for the repost. I woke my daughter up early this morning to see if we could find the Spotted owls nesting in our neighborhood and I remembered I never posted a full image of this painting called 'Triangle of Love'. So here it is ~ I created it for my last show 'The Animals in Us' @joshualinergallery. It was also selected for cover of @juxtapozmag last year (thank you Juxtapoz!). Scroll through to see full painting and a picture of our neighbor 🦉 that nested in the tree in front of our house last year and inspired this painting. The original painting is 44"x36", acrylic on maple panel 2015. It features a birds eye view of a family of owls nestled in gold plated four leaf clover. A golden thread connects their hearts together. My sweet neighbor just surprised me with this photo she took yesterday ~ thank you so much Elyse! So happy this endangered baby northern spotted owl puff ball is thriving here. Unfortunately across the northwest coast they are vanishing faster than ever. A larger more aggressive bird - the barred owls - have moved over from the east coast and quickly displaced the native spotted owls. Since they are protected, scientists (including my husband) are experimenting with barred owl management strategies and habitat restoration. It's a huge dilemma to restore natural balance when we don't have the resources to save everything. #spottedowls #owl #strigiformes
