So uhhhhhh since people are being idiots and hoarding disinfectants I think now is a good time to tell you all about how the parents here make spray cleaner. Yes it is a “family secret” but 1) they are dicks to me and 2) immunocompromised people are at risk so yes I’m going to share it anyways. Alright so first of all, eat an orange.Get yourself some of that good old vitamin C in your system. Save the peels. Eat a ton of oranges. Make marmalade if you like. Now take those peels and soak them in a mixture of white vinegar and vodka. Get the strongest, biggest bottle of vodka you can. I think Costco sells like, gallon jugs in sets of two. Those work well. You want about a ratio of 2:1 vinegar to vodka to soak these peels in. Basically enough vodka that the alcohol content will kill things but not so much that the smell is like a drunk hookers armpit. Stick the mix and the peels in a mason jar. Alright now you’ve got your peels in your liquid, let that sit and soak until the peels look brown and the liquid goes from plain clear to orangey-brown and faintly murky. You now have a natural cleaner that smells fairly decent that is pet-safe and is a mix of three different kinds of acids/alcohols that will break down the lipid barriers of most bacteria and virus’s. Pour that shit into a spray bottle and if you want you can add a few drops of dish soap for extra security and smell. Spray and wipe down your usual areas along with “high traffic” areas like door handles and stair railings if your house has stairs.
