hey all! this is my sister Sara and her boyfriend Jermaine. you might remember those earthquakes that hit my hometown of Ridgecrest in July. Sara is the manager of the mobile home park that was hit the worst during the quakes (my grandparents lost their home in the same park). while my sister was being absolutely amazing and helping everyone in the park, most of whom are elderly, dealing with gas leaks, looters, people trapped in their homes, and the worst media storm ever, the foundation of her home was ruined and no one knew, because she was being so selfless helping others. once everything started calming down, she and her boyfriend couldn’t remain in the home and they ended up sleeping first in their car and then on the floor in the office. the owners of the park eventually got them an RV, which they have been living in for the last 3 months. mind, this RV was used and in poor condition and things kept breaking. they had to go to my other sister’s house to do laundry and cook, and more often than not, they had to use the shower and bathroom at my brother’s house. it’s been a hellish 3 months for them. on top of all that, Sara finally got pregnant, which is seriously all she wants in life - to be a mother. unfortunately, she had a miscarriage a month into the pregnancy. life has not been kind to them and i honestly can’t think of 2 people who deserve some good in their world. the owners of the park have finally started the repairs on her home and they will hopefully be able to move back in soon. unfortunately, they lost a lot of their possessions as things were smashed and fell through holes in the floor. they are working towards rebuilding their lives and they could use some assistance. they’ve set up a GoFundMe. i know money is tight for everyone, but even a few dollars would help. thanks everyone!
