Groundbreaking!
Cleaning up the lettuce beds in the nursery, freeing up the overwintered mache (aka corn salad) lettuce and sorrel, and planting steadfast spinach, arugula, and lettuce mixes from Turtle Tree Seed.
I do a big cleanup every year where I donate what I don't use anymore and get rid of the rest . It's crazy how many things we can accumulate, even in tiny spaces. I'm the opposite of a hoarder and cleaning up my living space is just so satisfying!
Overdone
Every year I tell myself I won’t overdo the work in my yard. Last year, I wasn’t all that interested in the garden, so I seldom worked too hard, but this year, I’m back to my old tricks. Because I tend to be goal-oriented and because unfinished tasks irk me, it’s hard to do just part of the work and let the rest go for another day. A couple of days ago, I cleared out a patch of the spent larkspur…

My grind is all year round no brakes. "Wintertime grind turns to summertime shine"‼️
Embrace the Season: The Importance of Spring Clean-Up
With the arrival of spring comes the perfect opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate your living space through the timeless tradition of spring clean-up. As the weather warms and nature awakens, dedicating time to cleaning and organizing your home can have numerous benefits for both your physical environment and your overall well-being. In this article, we'll explore the importance of spring clean-up and provide practical tips for tackling this essential seasonal task.
Clearing Out Clutter:
Spring clean-up is an excellent opportunity to declutter and streamline your living space. Start by going through each room and identifying items that are no longer needed or used. Donate gently used clothing, toys, and household items to charity, and discard any broken or obsolete items. Clearing out clutter not only creates a more organized and spacious environment but also reduces feelings of stress and overwhelm.
Deep Cleaning:
After a long winter spent indoors, your home may benefit from a thorough deep cleaning. Dusting and vacuuming all surfaces, including baseboards, light fixtures, and upholstery, can help remove built-up dust and allergens, creating a healthier indoor environment. Don't forget to clean windows, blinds, and curtains to let in the spring sunshine and fresh air.
Outdoor Maintenance:
Spring clean-up extends beyond the confines of your home to include outdoor spaces as well. Take time to clean up debris left behind by winter storms, such as fallen branches, leaves, and dead vegetation. Rake and aerate the lawn to promote healthy growth, and trim bushes and shrubs to encourage new growth. Cleaning outdoor furniture and washing exterior surfaces, such as decks and patios, will prepare your outdoor spaces for enjoyment during the warmer months ahead.
Preparing for Pest Control:
As temperatures rise, pests such as ants, spiders, and mosquitoes become more active. Spring clean-up provides an opportunity to address potential pest problems by sealing cracks and gaps around doors and windows, repairing screens, and removing standing water where mosquitoes breed. Taking proactive measures to prevent pests can help maintain a comfortable and pest-free home environment throughout the spring and summer seasons.
Summary:
Spring clean-up is more than just a chore—it's a chance to breathe new life into your home and surroundings. By dedicating time to decluttering, deep cleaning, outdoor maintenance, and pest prevention, you can create a clean, organized, and welcoming space to enjoy throughout the spring and beyond. So roll up your sleeves, embrace the season, and get ready to refresh your home from top to bottom!

Pain equals gain
Raise your hand (providing you can manage it) if you have sore muscles today.
My wife and I were both moaning the morning after a weekend of intensive, practically non-stop activities that fell under the umbrella of "yard work."
It's that time of year when you can't look in any direction without seeing an outdoor chore waiting to be done.
The soreness is, however, the best kind - the feeling of getting something accomplished.
