Spring Sowing, 1318:
The other day I found some 5-year-old green bean seeds laying around. I figured they wouldn't be viable anymore but decided to plant one just to see what would happen. Look at this little son of a gun!

Spring Sowing, 1316: Henford-On-Bagley Monastery
As a "perk" of being housed in the monastery, the boys were getting an education. Both of them were going to learn to read and write, the basics of etiquette, and some basic prayers in Tartosiano.
All of this was great and all and Odart knew he should be grateful, but at heart? He's a farm boy. He didn't care all that much about praying. If the Watcher was so good, his mama wouldn't have been taken. Reading was nice but when was he ever going to use it after he left? And why should he care about bowing low enough when someone special walked in a room when they couldn't even protect his family?
But if there was one thing his mama drilled into his head, it was that sometimes you bide your time and bite your tongue. He would be on his own one day and could live to his own liking, until then? He would play the grateful and heartbroken boy.

“Farm Jobs Plenty; Pay Rather Low,” Border Cities Star. March 30, 1932. Page 6. ---- STRATFORD, March 30. - There will be a good demand for farm help this spring. In this locality, the superintendent of the local employment office believes, but the pay will be small. Many farmers have already made inquiries regarding farm help, and a number of those seeking farm jobs have also registered.
Judging from requests which have been received from farmers up to the present time, it would appear that few farmers will be ready to offer more than $20 per month. Some hesitate to offer that much. A number of farmers are asking for help to contract by the year, at prices as low as $200 per year.
