All week, I've been dreaming of this simple arrangement. I'm calling it 'The Gathering. The vase, a McCoy, found in a bin at a second-hand store. When I saw it, I knew what it was and rescued it. I was asked why I purchased willow stems at the Philadelphia Flower Show? Someone gathered these stems to share natures bounty, I use them in arrangements as I remember the beauty of an event I anticipate every year to officially welcome Spring. So I went into the garden at the break of day to gather with love a few branches in bloom. Blooms that hang like lanterns, lighting the way to the next season. As a good gardener, I wanted to make certain my Little Dibby and Dibby XL knew that this was going to be quite the weekend. I read them excerpts from one of my favorite seed catalogs, showed them the spinach seeds we will start this weekend under cover, and tucked them in. They will need all the rest they can get.
