Today’s the last day of B course and it was filled with enjoyable activities. During the morning circle, we explored once more about the world of butterflies, learning about the body parts ( wings, antennas, eyes , and body) additionally, we lear more types of a butterflies such as tiger butterfly, peacock butterfly, emeralds butterfly, 89 butterfly, owl butte4flies, zebra butter, and glass wing butterflies. We revisited the life cycle and sang to the songs “ Fly like a Butter and If I were a Tree, “ as the children requested. Thanks for joining us on our course B spring class and hope to see you again soon!

Topic Bug Steam

Songs: Bugs and Creepy Crawly Things / Pete the Kitty Goes to the Doctor

Story Books: Backyard Bugs

Bugs Vocabulary:

butterfly, ladybug, spider, ant, bee, grasshopper, snail, beetle, caterpillar,

mosquito, fly, worm, dragonfly, cockroach, praying mantis

Our topic for today was about bugs, exploring their body parts, and different types of bugs. While reading some children said, “ I don’t like bugs,” but they all eagerly identified the bug names on the flashcards.

After circle time, we played musical chairs, and everyone had a great time to dance along. It seems like their favorite song was “Train Yogi” song. The children always asked me to play this song.

In the afternoon, we decorated our bug mirrors. Later, we read story about bugs and we sang and dance more before we finished the class.

March 25th Monday

Theme: Spring Steam Challenge

Today at our class, the day started with a gloomy weather. However, as soon as we gathered for circle time, the children’s mood shifted, and most of them were soon enjoying singing and dancing. It has heartwarming to see their smiles and laughter fill the room.

We discussed about the cycle and parts of the plants, and the children were eager learners, soaking in a new vocabulary such as; soil, seeds, stem, leaves, seedlings, sprouts, flowers, fruits, sun, air, and water.

Since it’s raining, we improvised by setting up a slides and balancing beam to enjoy the rest of the time before lunch.

In the afternoon, we embarked on a hands- on activity by creating mini greenhouses. Each child had the opportunity to decorate their own greenhouse by coloring and some beautiful stickers.. Then we carefully place seeds in a Ziplock bag, adding a sprinkle of water.

We hung their greenhouses by the window so they could observe the germination process until Friday.

Course A: Easter

Song: Easter Egg Hunt

Activity: Easter wreath, Easter keychain

Today was so exciting and fun. We started our day with some exercise and singing Easter songs. Then, we talked about how people celebrate Easter. The kids were so excited and asked lots of questions about Easter egg hunting and the activities we’re doing at school. After the discussion, the kids made their Easter bunny wreath and helped us stick the pictures around the classroom.

In the afternoon, we played the word hunting game, where they had to work together as partners. They seemed to have so much fun. They also colored their keychains and hung on their bags. Before the class ended, we played musical chairs and danced a little more.

Spring Course B     Class: K4 and K5     Theme: Fairytale STEM Challenge 1

During choice time some of us took on the challenge and built a big suspension bridge. We used string and tape to suspend the deck.

When the bridge was finished, we had to test it!

Some of us had been singing 'London Bridge is Falling Down’ throughout the week. Today we sang it all together and danced.

Our gingerbread men were baked and ready to be decorated.

We finished the fairytale by finishing our cable-stayed bridge. Now Gingerbread Man can safely cross the river...

...and his chasers too.

Spring Course B   Class: K4 and K5   Theme: Fairytale STEM Challenge 1

Today we reviewed the different bridge types, looked at some famous bridges and classified them. After that we focused on the differences between a suspension and a cable-stayed bridge.

As we were going to make our own cable-stayed bridge, we first made one with our body and a rope.

Then we started making the components for our bridges: the deck and the tower.

K3 Spring Course A

Today was the last day of Spring Course A. We reviewed all the words we learned related to St. Patrick’s Day and did a lot of exercises! The children also learned how to do the ““Irish Jig” which is a very popular dance on St. Patrick’s Day! We did Boom Chika Boom dance and St. Patrick’s Day Freeze Dance. It was a lot of fun! The children also made a shamrock hat, and they colored it green! In the afternoon, we did some ball games. At first, the children were shooting balls into the basket. Then, we put a letter on the balls. They tried to find the ball with the letter said by the teacher! They seemed really happy whenever they found the ball with letters!
