earl grey and irish breakfast, please!

Earl grey (how I take my tea): with milk, a fair bit of it. Whole milk if I’m feeling particularly decadent.

Irish breakfast (what country I want to visit): the last holiday I went on was to Egypt and Syria- I loved it but they’re not the most ‘practical’ places to visit right now. I’d love to go to Turkey, Tunisia and Greece- I’m also a bit in love with Italy and Germany so I’d love to go there again.

I made some delicious pureed vegetable and cheese soup:

5 potatoes

2 carrots

1 parsnip

half sweet potato (it was quite big)

1 onion

a few cloves of garlic

1 red chili pepper

1 liter of water

2 vegetable stock cubes

1 packet (250 grams) of processed cheese (I used Koskenlaskija but I don't think they sell it outside Finland.)

Peel and chop the veggies. Fry the onion and garlic in olive oil for a bit, then add the water, stock cubes, and rest of the veggies. Cook until veggies are done.

If you're not sure about the amount of liquid, take some out just in case. You can always put it back after the soup is pureed. (My soup ended up just a bit too runny because I didn't do this.)

Puree the soup with hand blender. Then put it back on the stove and add the cubed cheese. Let simmer until the cheese has melted.

Add some black pepper or herbs if you like.

What's great about this kind of soups that you can use pretty much any vegetables you want (cauliflower, turnip, leek, etc.)

I have a solution for that. It’s called “Edmonton”.

I'm assuming you mean the one in Canada, because I was momentarily confused how North London could have such a different climate to South London.

But yes I wish I was in Canada right now (or at any point).

I made lingonberry porridge today so I thought I'd share the recipe. It's easy and delicious.

1 liter (4 cups) water

1,5 dl (0.6 cups) semolina

1-2 dl (0.4-0.8 cups) sugar

3-4 dl (1.2-1.6 cups) lingonberries (or cranberries)

0,5 teaspoon salt

Bring the water to boil and add sugar, salt, and berries. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir the semolina in and cook for another 10 minutes. Let the porridge cool, and then whisk it with an electric mixer until it's pink.

Lingonberry porridge is traditionally served with a little milk or cream on top. Or you can garnish it with berries like in the picture.

:') it seems the general consensus around here is 'post ALL the things to AO3' :P I was probably being overly perfectionistic/critical of my own work..

it might take some time to upload them all and I won't do it tonight, but since you guys are all so enthusiastic I'll try my best to upload them all eventually ;)
