Based on this idea I have started a bit of writing. Tell me your thoughts?
Buffy bounced on her tip toes, while her outfit was clean and professional while also showing a certain flexibility — she hoped at least — she couldn’t help but be nervous. The house was massive, she had checked the address three times already and still doubted to be in the right place. How could she? It was a victorian style mansion, manicured garden and everything.
The door opened and she felt really out of place. The man before her was pretty. Not handsome, pretty. Chiseled cheekbones and bright blue eyes. His legs were covered in slacks and his slim shoulders had a white tshirt and a dark blue button down clinging on to them. She felt like she could count his ribs through the fabric. Because it was wet.
"Uh... hello? I'm sorry, can I help you?"
Fuck. His voice was hot too. Not swoon worthy but definitely something she wouldn't mind whispering dirty nothings to her in the dark hours of night. A fucking english accent. Not stuffy like Giles or his stuck up nephew Wes, but something smooth that felt like decadent chocolate without the guilt of spending money or gaining weight.
And Buffy chanted about professionalism to herself. Because good employees don't oogle clients.
"Hi, I'm Buffy. Summers! Buffy Summers. Hi. I work for Rupert Giles and Anyanka Jenkins?" There was no recognition in his eyes. "The care agency 'Worry Slayers'?"
His face lit up before he looked down at himself, at his watch. "Bloody hell... it's already 2. I'm sorry, I lost completely track of time, I hope you didn't wait long? Please, come in."
Shs followed as he led the way inside towards what was obviously an office.
The house was even more impressive on the inside, tall ceilings, high arching windows, ornate shelves and picture frames filling all avaliable wall space. And apparently this was where she was supposed to work after today if everything went well.
"I'm really sorry, I usually try to be more put together, I swear, today just isn't a good day for her and... I am covered in spilled tea. Give me a moment to change, make yourself comfortable. I'll be back in just a moment. Something to drink maybe?"
Even his stutter was cute. And apparently there was a lady in his life that would soon also become her responsibilty. Daughter? Wife? Buffy at least guessed that, since a man like him could hardly be single, making a parent or pet unlikely. Giles hadn't given her anything to work off of, his policy — of keeping details private to prevent his workers from vetoing cases before meeting them — coming to bite her in the ass once more. Not only did she need this job, she wished to be at least superficially prepared for it.
"I'd appreciate some water if you have it..."
Very smooth, she told herself.
The man, who still hadn't introduced himself but must be Mister Pratt, nodded, blushed slightly, and left the office again.
Buffy watched him through the open door, his back muscles moving under his pale skin as he peeled the shirt of his body. Yum.
Shaking her head she turned away, her mental chant about professionalism increasing in volume. She set down her bag and jacket, before moving around to inspect the space.
Buffy barely noticed as Mister Pratt return until he quietly placed a glass of water and a coaster on a side table. "Please, sit. I feel guilty when people stand in my presence."
She flinched, spinning towards him, apologies for snooping ready on her tongue, only to see him gesture to a chair. Gingerly and slightly embarrassed she sat.
Nice first impression, Summers.
He smiled softly and sat down as well. "Thank you for coming. I'm glad you were available so soon, I don't know what I would have done, my employer really doesn’t like me taking time off for long periods of time." His hands fiddled with the sleeves of his pine green sweater. Adorable.
And he's most likely in a committed relationship, she reminded herself. Along with the fact that he was contracting her to take care of a family member of his.
"Always happy to help, Mister Pratt," she chirped.
"William," he interjected. "If you'll be working in my home, please call me William."
She couldn’t help but smile as she took a sip of water, noticing it to be perfectly cool.
