the natal spurfowl, also known as the natal francolin, is a member of the pheasant family found in portions of africa. the species is known for the bright yellow skin surrounding their nostrils, along with their orange-red beaks and feet. males are larger than females, but the sexes are similar in appearance otherwise. juveniles are duller than adults, lacking the bright coloration in the beak and feet. they tend to feed by digging things up, such as tubers, roots, and earthworms; however, they will take other foods such as termites, locusts, and fruit. the natal spurfowl is monogamous and is believed to mate for life.
