my favourite part of shang-chi is not any of the wonderfully choreographed fight sequences or the beautiful cinematography, but rather, the scene when shang-chi’s aunt is teaching him how to fight and there’s a 3-second closeup on their hands, when she unfolds his fists,,,

idk there was just something so profound and full of humanity in the change of fighting style from when he was fighting with closed fists, the way his father taught him, and this woman- his aunt who he had not met until then, opens his fists and shows him to be in harmony with the air and environment around him, and to use that to fight instead.
