Please take a moment to honor the brave squirmies who were injured preforming their duties this past year.
Staff Sergeant Jean, Company C of the 9th Battalion, 207th Infantry Regiment.
Stayed behind with an injured comrade inside the breast pocket of a flannel as it went through the wash, suffering a tail injury that later required amputation. Jean's comrade, First Class Private Beans, sadly did not survive the ordeal.
Second Class Privates Lintwurm (top) & Bingo (bottom), Company F of the 14th Battalion, 406th Armored Regiment.
Bravely volunteered to clear a laundry pile before becoming trapped in the front pocket of a pair of pants that were then sent through the wash. Bingo shielded Lintwurm with his own body during the incident, suffering a mutilated nose and tail. Lintwurm faired better, but suffered great damage to his eyes that resulted in partial blindness.
Corporal Stringston, Company A of the 3rd Battalion, 521st Engineer Regiment.
Endured an extended period of physical trauma in order to support the weight of essential military equipment. He suffered permanent damage to his internal spinal string.
Master Sergeant Snibble, Company D of the 6th Battalion, 313th Cavalry Regiment.
Spent three days undetected in enemy territory before being discovered and forced to take shelter in the back pocket of a pair of booty shorts. These shorts were soon sent through the wash, but Snibble survived and made their way back to base, with a fraying tail and while missing the entirety of their nose.
Thank you all for your service.
