1. When did you start using the internet? My family was one of the first to get a home computer, so I don't know the youngest age. I do know I really started to actively use the computer/internet, aside from school for typing, around age 9 or 10.
2. What is your favorite article of clothing? I don't really have a favorite article of clothing by itself, just categories. My favorites would be skirts/dresses, scarfs, socks (particularrly over the knee and knee highs), tank tops, and hats (which i admit aren't clothing, but I always feel bare without one.
3. How did you find out about Tumblr? Over the past year or so some of the webcomics I follow would list theirs, and then some of my websites would I go to would have links to various tumblrs. Eventually I gave in and got one (best decision I've made in a while) around mid to late April.
4. What's one of your worst habits? I have a horrifying habit of accidentially tearing off the tops of my fingernails. When my hands have nothing to do I will start picking at my nails until I get so much of a catch that i have to rip off the top. Sometimes all the way down to the cuticle.
5. What was your favorite childhood toy? My books and barbies. I had a lot of barbies as a child, so no specific one was my favorite there, but with books, my favorite was the "Little Critter" series. I still have 7/8ths of those.
6. What's something you used to be embarrassed about? Oh I have so many different things, but what sticks out first is my reading appetite which has been voracious from a young age. Before Tumblr I would read a good 5-6 hours a day, easily, and I was a bit embarrassed about how many books I went through for someone my age. I was reading at a 5th-6th grade level in 1st grade. I went though a crapton of books as a child, and even now as a young adult. I almost read the entire Junie B. Jones series (which at the time resided around 120-150 books) from the end of 3rd grade to when I had to move in 4th. And considering how often my class went to the library, maybe once to twice a week if I was lucky, that is a pretty amazing feat for a 8-9 year old.
7. How often do you dream? I believe I dream a lot, but I am lucky if I remember a 1/4 of a dream when I wake up.
8. What is your dream career/job? I want to be a genetic researcher. I am actually on the path for that right now. I am leaving Sept. 1st to study Biochemistry at a school roughly 4-5 hours away for my undergrad. Then I plan on going all the way for a doctorate in order have the best oportunites for myself. Also, i really want to be able to say I have a doctorate- the first in my family. Actually if I just complete a bachelor's degree I have gone past all of my recent (and most likely past) family education wise.
9. Do you want children someday? Someday yes, but not until my late 20's to early 30's.
10. What's something you really love about planet Earth? I love trees. I find a lot of peace in sitting underneath a tree and just letting go. Just sitting and listening to the breeze rustle the leaves and hearing the trees speak. It's peaceful to me to listen and enjoy the shade they bring. I just love to sit and read underneath them as well, in fact it is the first thing I do in a new place. I find a tree to be my tree and go there whenever I can for solace.
11. What inspires you? People and knowledge and learning and hope and love. I am not much of a people person, but I love to watch and see how people react. It gives me hope and inner strength to see people try. I thrive on knowledge and learning though. I have a brain and spirit and soul that only grows with love and knowledge. Without feeling some love from my family and friends, my heart dies and without knowledge and constant learning, my spirit dies.
