i feel like ghirahim would be slightly rusty with common hylian language (obviously he’s fluent in it, but he probably doesn’t hang around with hylians all that much under demise’s command lbr so slang and nicknames wouldn’t be something he’s good at) so at first, skychild would be his go-to, because that’s what he first called him and it probably just stuck and link doesn’t get annoyed by it anymore. he probably just sighs and accepts it lol
but i feel like the more time he spends around link (and if everyone else warms up to him, but that would probably take years) the more he’d pick up on things, like how zelda will call link “sleepyhead” or how groose affectionately calls him “dork” and he’ll start picking up these little nicknames and they’d slip out every once in a while and link will be pleasantly shocked everytime
