42. What are their goals? What would they sacrifice anything for? What is their secret ambition ?
first off : ace’s goals are to survive as LONG as he can. it’s well known that the jokers goons don’t really mean SHIT to him. during certain uh ‘missions’ (for lack of a better word), he’ll even have them killing eachother after their assigned objective is complete. for example, refer to this video. in that video, the goons are seen performing tasks in duos, and once one’s objective is complete (wow), one of the pair proceeds to killing the other. This is seen FOUR times (in the video), the last time, the last “goon” to survive is revealed to be the JOKER himself ! and also, me and @mistahdaddy mentioned in our IM’s that ‘ j probably kills them( in reference to the goons ) at random too. just because he’s sick of seeing their face or he’s bored of them in general ‘. so knowing all of this now, it makes much more sense as to why his main goal is to survive. it WOULD be to supply for his mother, but she can do that for herself too. ace knows that his work is dangerous, that at any moment he could be killed by the dangerous stunts he has to pull or by one of the other goons blowing his brains out. second : it’s not WHAT he could sacrifice everything for. it’s WHO. ace zaccarin only holds ONE person to his heart, and it is his mother, Laila. the two of them have an odd parent-child relationship and often interact as if old friends. lailas parents lacked compassion in her upbringing, so in return she did the same for ace. not to mention that she was barely around when he was a child and often left him in the hands of whatever drug dealer boyfriend she had then. (she left him w them bc she had to work ok she’s a bitch but :\) he really just loves his mother, and when he comes home with blood all over him and tears streaming down his cheeks, she just hugs him and reminds him that even if he feels as though the whole world is against him, he has her. laila is a bad….bitch….. concept: tough mom teaching her son how to use knives in fights. yeah. god he just loves his mother so much ( i keep repeating that but jfc ). she hated him at first, but over the years she’s seen that her child genuinely loves and cares for her and wants to make enough money to fuck ing keep his mom happy so she loves hi m n ow. it took her until he was 16 to LOVE HE R CHI LD BUT he’s loved her his whole life. even the manipulative side to her.
third : secret ambition ? literally as much as he mentally complains about all the wild shit he’s ordered to do, he fucking LOVES it. his ambitions are NO secret. he thoroughly enjoys causing havoc on gotham. and tbh he’d still do it even if he weren’t in jokers crew. he’s reckless. he enjoys murder, kidnapping, torture, street fights & street racing, pulling heists, he literally LIVES to fulfill his violent tendencies. again, his ambitions are no secret. he wants to watch the world BURN.
