What I still love most about Mass Effect 1 is its aesthetic.
It evokes many of the same feelings I get from Ridley Scott's original Alien movie, which I've always adored.
The Normandy often feels like a distant relative of the Nostromo: functional, believable, and full of character.
Ripley also served as a bit of an inspiration for my Shepards over the years.
Maybe that's one of the reasons I fell in love with the game the very first time I stepped aboard the Normandy :D
MASS EFFECT TRILOGY WEEK 2026
Sometimes I think the Normandy is actually my Shep's one true love. I adore that ship, and even after all these years, it still gets me every time when Joker reveals the new Normandy in Mass Effect 2. Even though it's technically a different ship, the moment still feels incredibly emotional.
