If Dr Martin Brenner had a daughter...

Jessica Brenner has a beauty that many fawned after, and an attitude that could part the seas at Hawkins High. Despite not knowing her father, she always had a curiosity surrounding his identity and remained close to her sickly mother. Her time as Hawkin’s top of the food chain quickly came to an end upon her disappearance. 

During the Summer of ‘85, Jessica returns with seemingly no memory of her disappearance. Jessica desperately tries to find normalcy again. This leads her to Starcourt Mall. With every intention of finding a killer bikini to rock by the Hawkins pool, she finds herself passing Scoops Ahoy, where the sound of a strange message being played from the back room leaves her frozen. What was stranger than the message being looped was her perfect understanding of Russian despite having no prior knowledge. 

Jessica Brenner hastily becomes the newest member of the scoops troop in the hopes of discovering the truth.

If Murray Bauman had a younger brother…

Xavier Bauman is the younger brother of the Hawkins local conspiracy theorist Murray Bauman. Growing up in Chicago, the Bauman family were not financially stable nor did they grow up in a nurturing environment. As a child, Xavier had a strange and terrifying encounter with an unexplainable entity that continued to haunt his dreams for years. At age 23, he became increasingly distant, irritable and paranoid thus, leading to his departure from Chicago to Washington, DC where he later joined FBI. 

When catching wind of the reports from Hawkins, Indiana and finding several parallels in the Byers Case to that of his own encounter from his childhood, he took the case and began his investigation. For the first time in 10 years, Xavier runs into his brother.

Xavier is determined to face the monster that has tormented him since his youth and rid himself of its constant presence.

If Merrill (The farmer) had a son…

Jack Merill is the only son of Merrill. Being the eldest of five, with four younger sisters, Jack is left to cook for his family, take care of the farm and work part time at Benny’s Burgers, in the hopes of saving up for college (though he’s far from having enough). 

When the pumpkin patch is found rotted and unsellable, the family is put under financial stress. After being told that he won’t be able to afford college, Jack goes to Tina’s party to get wasted and forget about his future seeming more and more like a dead end. Unbeknownst to Jack, the upsidedown has other plans for him.

a/n: I know that Merrill isn’t the last name, but I didn’t want to leave it as just “Jack”.

If Jim Hopper had a daughter…

Mary Hopper moves back to Hawkins to live with her father. Prior to this, Mary acted out in retaliation from butting heads with her stepfather by trashing his car and lighting it on fire. Once she arrived in Hawkins, Mary became intrigued by the disappearance of Will Byers that had taken place a month before her return and began snooping through the police files regarding the case. When El joins the picture, Mary has her reservations but gradually opens up to the strange girl, although Hopper manages to convince his daughter that El is a friends child who he’s looking after. 

Mary decides to go to Tina’s Halloween party where she runs into Nancy Wheeler. Before Jonathan Byers takes her home, the two share a cigarette in the downstairs bathroom where a very drunk Nancy lets some information regarding her guilt for Barbs disappearance; this sparks interest in Mary and she intends on unravelling the secrets that the town harbours.

If Barb Holland had a sister...

Soo-Jin “Suzy” Holland is the adoptive sister of Barb Holland. Born in South Korea, Soo-Jin was adopted by the Holland’s at the age of six, this allowed for Soo-Jin and Barb to become very close as they were both the same age. Living in a small, midwest town was hard for her as she felt rather isolated and an outsider, and after relentless teasing from her peers she began to call herself Suzy. She is a hairspray fanatic and swears that someone is wandering the halls of Hawkins High, with a head of hair packed full of Farrah Fawcett Hairspray.

After the disappearance of her sister, Suzy is determined to get to the bottom of the strange happenings in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Feeling lost and alone, she decides to return to the one thing that has always been a constant, the one thing that she has full control over - her name.

Soo-Jin will find the truth, no matter what it takes.

If Bob Newby had a daughter...

Cleo Newby is the only child of Bob Newby and she’s very close with her dad. She’s a frequent movie goer and loves the arcade amongst other “geeky” things. Cleo is the one who introduced Joyce to her dad and helped him plan a proposal that never came about. On Will’s bad days, she takes him to the cinema and buys him the biggest slushie they offer, and follows up with a trip to the arcade.

After the death of her father, Cleo was devastated and didn’t know how to deal with the grief of it all. Jonathan and Will spent a weekend together sifting through the footage on the video camera that Bob carried around, piecing together clips of Bob smiling and laughing and gave it to Cleo as a small sliver of closure, so she could remember her father the way he lived every day - Happy.

If Jim Hopper had a son…

Arthur Hopper is the only blood-related child left of the Hopper family.  Having a strained relationship with his father, Arthur had become quite the “lone ranger”. He plans on joining the Hawkins Police after high school. He’s the first person to jump in and break up a fight and shuts down any misogynistic behaviour that takes place in the locker room. He tends to keep to himself although he would consider Steve somewhat of a friend after sticking up for him on the basketball court. Arthur grows frustrated when his father shuts him out  (which ultimately is to protect him.) 

It isn’t until El comes into the picture that he starts to uncover the secrets of Hawkins and grows closer to his dad. He becomes close to El and would do anything to protect her - despite her being fully capable of defending herself.

If Max Mayfield had an older sister...

Leanne Mayfield is easy going and spends her days catching waves and soaking up the sun. After much convincing, Leanne stayed behind with her father in order to finish her senior year. She plans on travelling from coast to coast after graduation, and even uses her college savings to buy a shabby van for her road trip (much to her father's disdain). She is extremely adventurous and isn’t one to be tied down or settle for anything less than extraordinary.
