So, obviously, Hufflepuff!Benvolio spends a shit ton of time in Gryffindor Tower since that’s where Romeo and Mercutio are.

And, of course, Gryffindor!Rosaline is totally sick of it.

So when she becomes prefect, she bans anyone from sharing the password with Benvolio.

Benvolio, also prefect, retaliates in the best way he knows how: he bans Rosaline from the Hufflepuff dorms (and therefore, from seeing a certain cousin of hers, and maybe perhaps a girlfriend - and no, he did not get the idea from the Slytherin prefects Escalus and Isabella what are you talking about) and Ravenclaw ones - where Livia is.

Rosaline retaliates by embarrassing him in potions class and earning more points for her house than him.

Benvolio retaliates by betting her that Hufflepuff will beat Gryffindor in Quidditch (they do) and using that spending money to buy the Gryffindor password off some random 1st year.

Rosaline retaliates by luring him into the Room of Requirement and locking him in overnight 

- and, well, you get the point. (there’s a lot of howlers sent back and forth)

Until finally, in their 7th year, they’re both named Head Boy and Head Girl and keep running into each other and they’re in all the same classes damn it - and all their friends are sick of this so they all (well, Stella and Isabella really) basically force them on a blind date

which ends with Benvolio jumping into the Great Lake

and Rosaline jumping in after him

(neither of them with clothes)

(they’re both late to Charms the next morning looking PARTICULARLY DISHEVELED)

Listen - Benvolio is horrible at proposals, all of them in all universes are just - 

Ben: so you don’t wanna be a nun anymore, right?

Ben: so yeah I think I love you, let’s get married even tho we’ll probably die

Ben: we’re already living together let’s save on taxes too and get married

and after any of these proposals, Ros is just... “really? that’s what you’ve got.” and she rolls her eyes, kisses him, and says yes anyway.

Headcanons regarding pet names/nicknames for Rosvolio! Are they pet name kind of people? Do they stick with calling each other last names even when they're together?

Okay okay okay.

So it’s canon that when they’re bickering/pre-friends they call each other “Montague” and “Capulet” and when they’re fake dating/being annoying they throw out the sarcastic “my beloved” and “my love” which is all amazing and beautiful

Now when they’re friends, I still think they sarcastically refer to each other as “my love”/”my beloved”/”detested husband”/”unloved bride” or in modern au “babe” “honey” “sweetheart” “pumpkin sugerplum” like they probably have contests to see who can out-pet name the other and it’s disgusting and everyone around them is just like “will you shut up and make out already”

BUT OK AND THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME - once they are comfortable being friends, they break out the “Benvolio” and “Rosaline”. Especially once they’re together/dating/in love. In fact, they probably only full-first name each other in that honeymoon phase before they quickly just refer to each other as “Ben” and “Ros” bc who needs those added syllables when I could be using my mouth for other things

like do they get mad at each other and throw out a scathing “Montague” or “Capulet”? absolutely. but i think they mostly call each other “Ben” and “Ros.” Because... only two people call her Ros: Livia and Ben. The two most important people in her life. (And no one else calls him Ben... bc sad.)

(like even Escalus and Isabella call her Rosaline)

(In canon. Modern AU squad is a different story. then it’s all nicknames all the damn time bc they’re all a Mess and love each other) 

So in private, with each other, they’re Ben and Ros.

Because like - when they first meet, they are just a “Capulet” and a “Montague.” They’re defined by their families names, by the feud. But WHATS SO IMPORTANT TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT is that they actually spend time together and see each other for who they are as individuals! As Benvolio and Rosaline! So they call each other by their first names. And when they’re in love and domestic and tender and affectionate? It’s Ben and Ros, because no one else gets to call them that, it’s just for them and those closest to them.

Basically you can pry “Ben” and “Ros” from my cold, dead hands.

what do benvolio and rosaline think about guardians of the galaxy. what do they think about pineapple pizza. what is their favorite type of cookie. what is their favorite narnia book. what is their favorite season. that is their favorite thing to do as a couple. what is their favorite movie to watch together. how many dogs do they own. thank you for your time.

they both love it a lot; it’s rosaline’s fave marvel movie, but benvolio is more of a dc guy anyway

they both love pineapple pizza and love ordering it for the group (bc they always end up having to make the orders) and everyone’s mad at them bc they don’t like pineapple pizza/they’re sick of it and then they get to eat all of it shrug emoji

benvolio loves everything peanut butter and rosaline loves everything chocolate so they get a lot of peanut butter and chocolate cookies

rosaline loves lion, the witch and the wardrobe & benvolio loves horse and his boy (he secretly thinks he and ros are basically shasta/aravis and ros finds this amusing)

they both love autumn the best

um. kissing. cuddling. having sex. but also reading/drawing together. also solving mysteries together tbh they’re a crime solving duo.

they love watching action movies together? or thrillers? they’re super into mystery/crime movies ok.

they... don’t have pets bc they just have too many kids (2 are their own, most are adopted/fostered tbh)

Headcanon for Ben and Ros as parents, how would they both react to the news, who is the worrier of the two? do they have a boy or girl?

Ros (who’s with Livia when she finds out) is kinda just... numb? at first? But then it sinks in and she’s too nervous to be excited until she tells Ben.

Ben, of course is Peak excitement, doing a twirl hug and everything and that’s when Ros relaxes and gets excited herself bc Ben is so excited.

And lets be real, they’re both freaking the fuck out during the entire pregnancy and they both take turns calming down the other. I’d say that for the majority of the time they alternate who gets to freak out and the only time both of them freak out at the same time is once the baby is actually home and they’re like shit!! baby!!! how do we parent!!! who let us have a baby!!!

but then baby (girl, i think, altho later on they probably have a boy) starts crying and that kinda anchors them and they work together like Partners and smile at each other over her tiny little head bc parents!!!!!
