VAULT “INSIGHTSBY” EDITORIAL________Part. 02 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, VAULT, and what you do there? I am the Sales Director of VAULT. I am in charge of merchandising, I do the math and set the prices, and I take care of all the activities of sale.
What are your major inspirations? Hip-hop
What do you carry with you at all times? What items can you not do without? I have to have my iPhone and my watch with me all the time. Having a watch with you is not only about being on time but also a kind of persona, it’s a different way of showing people what kind of person you are.
How would you define your personal style? Streetwear and sportswear. They make me feel comfortable and street. To me, street is hip-hop, and hip-hop is something I grew up with and something I love.
What are your personal plans, and your plans for the store? I want to run this store as long as possible. I am willing to try everything. I can accept failure but I can’t accept no trying. Just doing what we have to do step by step.

VAULT “INSIGHTSBY” EDITORIAL________Part. 01 -
Could you tell us a little about yourself, VAULT, and what you do there?
I am the Creative Director of the store. Basically I am in charge of buying, brand strategy and some design work here and there. I’m the more creative mind of VAULT, so I’m in charge of bringing up new ideas and concepts to the table. So that’s where David and Klaus come into to turn those ideas into reality.
What are your major inspirations?
My inspirations come from all over the place. I’m really into architecture and Japanese design. So basically I’m inspired by the design ethos of Dieter Rams, Frank Gehry silhouettes and Rei Kawakubo branding.
What do you carry with you at all times? What items can you not do without?
A cap, a lighter and my iPhone.
How would you define your personal style?
I would say street versus sport. I wear black/white most of the time so I like to play around with layers and fabrics to keep it sophisticated but simple at the same time.
What are your personal plans, and your plans for the store?
At the moment, collaborations and new brand partnerships. We will have some womenswear brands aboard for autumn/winter this year. So that’s something to look forward to.

Meet Our Writers: Renée Aubern
Renée is a dreamer, an adventurer, a wayward traveler inflicted with acute wanderlust. She writes poetry and music. She photographs people and window frames. She finds inspiration in Patti Smith and Bob Dylan—their words, their restlessness, their art drive her. Renée was born in the valley of Northern California. Arguably, this is where her journey began. She was born into a family of artists,…

I’ve been meditating on my dreams a lot lately… I don’t understand the possibility or morality of my cliché “New York or bust” mentality being so absolutely personal even in its predictability. I have spent my entire life flirting with living in New York City; ordering coffee with a slight accent, and frequenting poetry clubs. I’m learning to trust my intuition– that whisper of a woman…
