We know that the Hosu Winged Nomu’s wings came from the Doctor’s grandson -- could these be the same wings? If so, it could finally present an opportunity for Deku and Kacchan to discover what happened to their childhood friend. Can you imagine their reactions? The hatred it would give them for the Doctor? I want to see it!
In my first readthrough, I thought this was Deku. A lot of the reaction channels I watch thought so too. I love, LOVE how closely this parallels Deku’s scene during the Dictator fight and the connection it builds between them. Not to mention the obvious, which is that Shigaraki things of Deku as someone who might actually save him! This makes me so ridiculously happy, you have no idea. I’ve believed for ages that the final battle will end in Deku saving Shigaraki/Tenko, but having such a direct piece of foreshadowing for it is still amazing. Also, dreamscape Tenko looks more alert than Deku did while being attacked by all those civilians.... that’s just sad.
Notice how Jeanist and Endeavor are both clearly torn up about Star’s death while Hawks, who was the Commission’s secret hit man, barely looks affected at all. The amount of death that guy must’ve seen compared to two men by far his seniors.... it really says a lot.
Reading these panels, it really sunk in just how baller of a final move Star made in her last moments. Instead of making her quirk unstealable or agreeing to blow up her pilots, she made full use of both to get as massive of a hit in on Shigi/AFO that she possibly could. By destroying a chunk of his quirks and preserving data on the quirks he had during their battle, she did more harm to him than perhaps anyone else in the series so far -- including All Might. That’s some Big Dick Energy if I ever saw it.
Finally, did anyone else notice that Deku is basically wearing the same outfit he was back at the USJ? You can even tell that the gloves are the same. What a throwback... it makes me think Horikoshi is telling us that Deku’s in a similar external or internal situation to the one he was in back then, but I guess we’ll have to wait to find out what happens next to fully understand what that means. Damn I love this man and his details!
