Hey all. I don’t typically do callout posts, but I’m running out of options on how to get the message across and simultaneously warn people about someone who is acting in a stalkery, unhinged way.
Last week we had to remove someone from our community. He wasn’t in our FC, just someone that hung around our Discord and came to our events. His character was singularly, romantically focused on mine, despite us having few direct interactions over the weeks he’s been around. To be clear, our characters never so much as had a deep conversation or touched one another, this fixation was completely, 100% one-sided. His behavior became unsettling both to me and our other community members, and he also expressed OOC views that, while I will not repeat for his privacy, worried us about his psychological state. It was for these reasons that we removed him and it was made clear why this decision had been made.
Since then, he has been following myself and our members, both in and out of game. He keeps loitering in our FC house and following us to events, and also sending our members persistent messages on Tumblr and Discord. The messages he sends are not violating of any ToS, so we have nothing to report beyond repeated unwanted contact. We of course block him at every avenue and everyone is operating under a “do not engage” policy under the hopes he will get bored and stop, but it isn’t working and we are very concerned now.
This person goes by the character name Tharryn Lachman on Balmung. I think this is his only character on Balmung but he may have others on Mateus.
We have since found out he has done this in WoW before as well so this is a repeat behavior and it might happen again. I am not telling you to interact or not interact with this person, but at this point I feel like I need to put out a PSA, forewarned is forearmed. I am so sorry it has come to a post like this, I hate this kind of crap in roleplay communities, we are just at our wit’s end.
