ahhh congratulations on the 200!! if you're still taking writing prompts how about some wolfstar + “Want to find out what we can get away with before someone comes looking for us?”

Once upon a time, Hogsmeade weekends had meant small fortunes spent at Zonko’s, snowball fights played on Slytherins and daring Wormtail to drink just enough butterbeer so that he actually became funny. Since Lily Evans was in the picture, Hogsmeade weekends had shifted towards James being insufferable until he was left alone with his date, and suddenly Wormtail didn’t want to drink butterbeer anymore so Sirius just roped Moony into ditching him so at least they could have some fun.

Only Moony was still tired from the last full moon, and he was taking his N.E.W.T. studying way too seriously, and how had he convinced Sirius it was a good idea to just hang out at Tomes and Scrolls again?

“You do realize there is a perfectly fine library at Hogwarts that we can use, right? You can be all boring in there and nobody will bat an eye, and you don’t even have to spend any money! Yes, it’s the perfect solution, now come on—”

“You can surely be patient for just a second more. There might be something in here that may be helpful for Transfiguration—Oh, look, they have Madame Flintsquick’s Treaties! Can you believe it?”

“Can I believe it,” Sirius deadpanned. Moony wasn’t even going to buy all of the books he’d placed on the tray he was strolling along. “Wait, you’re just messing with me, aren’t you?”

Moony briefly undug his nose from the book he was paging through to throw a lopsided smile in Sirius’ direction.

“A bit, yes. Watching your face was fun.” Moony stood up from where he’d been crouched, trying and failing to hide a grimace of pain. “So, Padfoot. Where to now?”

Sirius poked Remus’ chest with his finger.

“Now I have to plot my revenge. How dare you. We’ve wasted practically the whole morning!”

“You know,” Moony said, not protesting that Sirius was dragging him out of the bookshop by the sleeve of his robe, “when we get old and boring and we think back to our youth, we’re going to remember days like this with longing.”

“Shut up. You dropped out of Divination. Now. I was thinking—We should play a prank on Prongs and Lily.”

Moony hummed. “That’s a bit risky, don’t you think?”

“Oh, it could be something simple. Like—we make them believe they’re being followed or something. Don’t you want to find out what we can get away with before someone comes looking for us?”

Remus stopped walking. “Actually, I was also thinking—”

“Your problem is that you think too much.”

“Sirius. I’m just—it’s not so long ‘til our exams, and then we’ll leave Hogwarts and—”

“And everything will be just the same as it is now, except we won’t have to sleep through Binns’ classes anymore.”

“You dropped out of History of Magic.”

Sirius shrugged. “We’ll still be friends, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“I wasn’t. Not about that.”

“About what, then? You’re being weird today, Moony.”

“Yeah. I know.” Moony took a step closer to Sirius, forcing him to turn his face up to look him in the eye.

Very distantly, Sirius was aware they were in the middle of a street full of Hogwarts students. Not that it stopped Remus from leaning over, so close that Sirius’ nose was bathed in the mist coming from Remus’ breath.

Sirius tried to read Moony’s eyes, but there was no trace of their easy joking from before. They were, in fact, looking directly into Sirius’, as if Sirius was the one with the answers.

But he wasn’t. He liked to think he was, but he really wasn’t. He was also scared of life after Hogwarts, of being an adult, of the cries of war that raged on the newspapers.

Sirius was scared of change, because things had already changed so much.

His Gryffindor bravery left him for a second, and that was all his mouth needed to evade Remus’ lips.

He didn’t want Moony to feel sad, though, so he threw his arms around Remus’ neck. “I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good,” he whispered just by Moony’s ear, and it was a promise.

Then, he squeezed to get his message across before he let go.

Remus cleared his throat. Sirius didn’t comment on the faint blush colouring his cheeks.

“So, prank time? Prongs and Lily?”

Ooh okay here we go...

Sexuality headcanon: okay honestly I think Proko is mostly into dudes. Like I think for a while he was really confused because he was forced into heteronormativity from a young age, so when he realized he liked guys he was a little freaked out. However, I think he would identify as queer rather than gay because he’s not that into strict labels. He’s had crushes on a couple of girls and just doesn’t feel like defining it in a specific way, so he just goes with queer.

Gender headcanon: this one I had to think a little harder about. I don’t think he’s non-binary and honestly wouldn’t be opposed to a little ftm transguy Proko hype, but personally I just see him as a gender non conforming guy.

A ship I have with said character: am I allowed to be basic and say Prokopinsky? Tbh that’s my number one ship with Proko I have ~a lot~ of feelings about it, just never got around to writing it (though I have some planssss ;)) I’m going to go with Prokopinsky cuz I’m honestly not that into many other ships with him and/or I haven’t seen enough content to get invested.

A BROTP I have with said character: Proko/Jiang. Not really sure why but I can see Proko just annoying the absolute shit out of Jiang and him threatening to deck him and that just being their typical banter. Like they act like they hate each other, but they’re actually super chill and defend each other at all costs.

A NOTP I have with said character: ooh I’m gonna have to go with Proko/Ronan. Just the idea of it makes me vaguely uncomfortable because I feel like by nature Proko is a jealous little shit (I say this in a loving way I swear) so when Ronan and K get close I bet he really wasn’t having it... I can see him and Ronan maybe agreeing to have a truce, but I can’t see them involved in any sort of sexual or romantic relationship that ends well.

A random headcanon: idk when or why I came up with this but I like to think that Proko used to be a dancer - a ballerina, more specifically - but he quit when he was sent to Aglionby because it brought up too many ~memories~. Not sure why, I can just really see him being a dancer, like he just gets really into the music and is in his element and when he dances, no one can touch him and it’s his own little way of taking back his power. When he leaves Aglionby, he doesn’t know what he’s doing with his life for a while and becomes lost and one day he sees an ad for ballet classes and he goes and becomes super emotional and everything comes rushing back... (shit should I write this??? 👀👀 I might add it to my list, no one steal that lmao)

General opinion over said character: Proko is a little shit, but I love him so goddamn much. He’s so fascinating with the contrast between the two versions of him and the versatility of it all... I think there are so many different ways to interpret him and I love them all, I love to see other people’s takes on him. Also, the bond that he has with K really gets me emotional with the implications of it, both before and after he was dreamed anew, and I just love him so goddamn much, he deserves the world <3

oooohh i usually think of declan burning down the barns but liliana doing it is A Concept! i like it i like it. do you have any other thoughts about it?

Your Mister Impossible bingo card was a thing of brilliance, so really you should be telling Us about your HCs. 

Alright, well, Liliana consuming the Barns is a hunch I feel strongly about, but have the least amount of ... canon connective tissue for, so to speak. 

I really, really think the Barns is going bye-bye. I think Maggie foreshadows enough to believe that it’s going to burn down. 

And with Liliana - this is what I think: so she literally ‘blesses’ the innocent children who remain unharmed, and then basically sucks the life out of the people around her while having a vision.

Their life force feeds her visions and her - turning the clock back and making her young again (Visionaries learn to turn this inwards, using up their own life force, causing them to die early). 

Also, I think Maggie deliberately showed Liliana killing a field of cows as a substitute for people, so we know she can use animals to power her visions too. 

But ... and here’s where I’m reaching a bit , so brace yourself ... it’s not life force that she uses, as much as people’s ... time? Or even potential? (I was reminded of those Angels from Blink in Doctor Who)  

Liliana is from another time, or remembers another time, or lives time backwards (or something like that anyway - I haven’t reread CDTH in a while, so I may be a little fuzzy on deets).

So, I envision that she and Carmen will find their way to the Barns, use up the time/potential/life force from all the sleeping animals and other dreams, and then move the ley line’s power there to create time-space fuckery in some way. 

I HC that event as the start of Liliana’s time loop, which ends up explaining the Gangsey’s TRC time loop (because C’MON that cannot be a dangling plot thread Maggie!) -  Blue’s face on that flag, the ancient Camaro wheel, perhaps Gansey being Glendower (an excellent HC from @394-fandoms !)

Another HC is that Declan, Jordan and Matthew will defend the Barns with an assortment of weapons. Maybe the horror of Ronan’s dream defences will make Liliana crumble with guilt. Or maybe Declan does use Ronan’s unquenchable dreamt Fyre to burn The Barns down.

Yeah. Well. These are very much WIP HCs and my brain’s a strange place, more so this year LOL. But this was so much fun! Thanks for this scrumptious Ask.

Declan Lynch was on his ass.

Thankfully, a quick glance around informed him he wasn’t the only one. Granted, the majority of other skaters who were on their rears, sliding gently over the ice, were toddlers. He looked up to Jordan’s outstretched hand, and she was grinning at him with mirth in her eyes. Careful not to pull her down with him, tempting though it was, he accepted her help and wobbly got back up on his skates.

“How did you talk me into this again?” he asked, dusting frost off the back of his dark wash jeans with a sigh.

“I believe you said ‘would you like to go ice skating after dinner?’ and I said yes,” she laughed. She dusted the thumb of her mitten across his cheek fondly then started to skate backward, pulling him along with.

To Declan’s credit, he managed to stay on his feet this time. One foot in front of the other, and soon he was holding Jordan’s hand as they skated along instead of clinging for dear life. Clearly, his present-day romantic self hadn’t thought to consult grade-schooler Declan, who had gone to a skating rink on a class trip and ended up with so many bruises Ronan teased him for days. But now that they were gently coasting along the outer edge, he could appreciate that he’d asked Jordan to do this.

“I knew you’d get the hang of it, mate.”

She leaned up to kiss the corner of his mouth, and he nearly wiped out again. Her laughter and flushed cheeks made it all worth it.

OKAY i just started The Morning After but i had to tell you that i'm already vibing with Daisy in that i too am plagued by thoughts of my lola mumbling disappointment and curses at me. or i assume that's what it is from the few words i actually know. i may not be fluent in tagalog but i sure know when someone's upset about something!

Quite a lot of people will end up murdered, tbh.  It’s bad to try and torture witches. It makes them mad.

I actually didn't know this! The cover art doesn't really reflect that, does it?

This actually makes me want to read it more - at 24 I find it harder and harder to relate to YA, and there are very few triggers I can't handle, luckily.

For some reason I thought they were high schoolers (are they?) which made me assume the content was for general high shoolers as well.
