Anon you're free to like SJM and even my blog (thanks for the love btw ♥️). just so you know we antis don't hate sjm. some of us still love her books. We're only taking issue with the sexism and racism in her books. i love acotar but the fandom chased me out of it whenever I pointed out the wrong things in the books. truth is that the fandom worships SJM blindly and sends death threats to people who point out even small issues in her books. SJM makes it worse by not accepting that her books have issues. Leigh bardugo, tho, although she's made mistakes in representations too, encourages her fandom to discuss issues in her books. Just saying.

Usually the assumption is that Stanley gets recent info about Ford from their mom who lovingly pesters him into answering the phone.

Is it the same here? How much about y’all’s family does she know? How much has she told Stanley?

I doubt Ford would trust her with the truth about his family considering her less than stellar parenting skills but I’m curious about Ford’s opinion on her/his dad. Does he feel guilty for not telling her about her grandkids?

“Sorta? She tells me a few things, but Ma doesn’t really know much bout Ford either. Told me he’s doing his own independent research in the woods somewhere, and that’s all she knows. She gave me his number but… well, anyways… Says he barely answers her calls and won’t let her visit if it means Pa comin too. He won’t even give her the state he lives in until she agrees to not bring him. Which is weird, I guess? Last I heard, Ford didn’t exactly like Pa, but he never put his foot down this hard. My only thought is something happened, and that terrifies me. I want to know more, but Ma won’t give me anything to work with. All I can hope for is that my brother is doin okay, and that wherever he is, he’s happy. It’s all I could ever want.”

“I do not speak to my mother as often as I’d like. I would love for her to visit, to see her grandchildren, to meet my partners, everything… I want nothing more than to tell her the truth. But my Pa is always on the other line listening to our conversations, and I want him as far away from my family as possible.
