Governor troubled by reports on embattled state Senate boss
BOSTON /February 05, 2018(AP)(STL.News)— Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker says if there’s truth to new reports involving an ex-state Senate president whose husband is accused of sexual abuse then he shouldn’t return to the Senate’s top post.
The Boston Globe reported Sunday that Democratic Sen. Stan Rosenberg‘s husband, Bryon Hefner, had involved himself in matters before the Senate and had access to Rosenberg’s Senate email despite Rosenberg’s promise to keep a “firewall” between his professional and personal lives.
Rosenberg said Monday that Hefner did not exert any influence over his actions and decisions as Senate president.
Rosenberg relinquished the presidency after several men, some of whom had business before the Legislature, told the Globe they had been sexually abused by Hefner.
Rosenberg and Hefner have separated and say Hefner is seeking professional help.
The Republican governor calls the new reports “troubling.”

Trip of a Lifetime Goes To Las Vegas
Yesterday, I presented to 100+ people about the importance of storytelling when marketing to millennials at the Internet Marketing Assocation's Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. As part of my presentation, I explained my work with Trip of a Lifetime. and discussed how the organization is using stories to drive deeper engagement.
Although everyone is familiar with stories, books, and literature, a story in a marketing context is a small digestible piece of content that gets easily shared with others. Trip of a Lifetime's biggest story is a student quote; if a picture can tell 1000 words, just imagine what a powerful quote from a student can share. This is one of the main reasons why we have students write their post-trip essays; we want to get their unfiltered perspectives and share them with our donors, sponsors, and fans. Ultimately, no one cares what I have to say; donors are funding the student trips, not me as the founder of this organization. Every quote brings our supporters one step closer to feeling part of the "trip of a lifetime." They might not go on the trips themselves but we want them to feel like they did.
That's the power of a story!

A Whirlwind of a Day (Part 2)
As a college student, I have a theory that everyone has one whirlwind day a semester. A whirlwind day is an active day filled with a rush of emotions. It is exciting, nerve-racking, fun, and stressful all at the same time. Today, I definitely had my whirlwind day for the Fall Semester.
This morning, I had an interview with a digital media company (I would rather wait to disclose the name until I am offered and accept the opportunity) to become a social media strategist. At first, I was nervous for the interview as it was my first corporate interview. Luckily, the meeting went extremely well and the person I interviewed with was extremely down to earth and passionate about the company.
After my interview, I rushed back to my dorm to change and get ready for the second part of my crazy day - A speech at Irving Place High School. After my Marketing Society meeting and Information Technology Class (both were fun as usual), I headed off to the High School to speak with 35 members of the school's community service club. Unlike most presentations I have given before, I decided to focus more on my experience with the charity, not the charity itself. Many of these students are taking part in community service activities for the first time so I tried to inspire them with my story. I stressed to them that it only takes one person to make a difference; one experience can influence many others to make a difference themselves.
As I am writing this blog post, I am exhausted but most importantly feel accomplished. I am a firm believer in seizing every opportunity given and today, I truly fulfilled this mantra.
