Standrew AU concept: 

Steven listens to audio book recordings each night just so he can quiet down his thoughts and relax enough to sleep. One night while exploring new selections, he chances across a particular book that he thinks he might enjoy. He quickly learns that he likes listening to the particular reader’s voice as much as he does the book. 

Over the course of time, he starts listening to more and more recordings of other readings the person has done. There’s just something about the cadence, their intonation, the dips and flows of their reading that soothes even the most frantic corners of his thoughts. Of course being curious, as all humans are, he entertains the brief imaginative thoughts of what the reader is like. 

He doesn’t expect to quite literally get the answer to his wondering in the form of his new colleague, Andrew.

I think this was for the headcanons post?? Well here you go bud! (I had nothing to do at work today so this turned out long)

Andrew may look like he’s confident, strong, and sure of himself. And sometimes that’s true, but often times it’s just an act to get people to leave him alone. He constantly questions everything he does, he doesn’t want to give people the impression he’s someone he’s not.

He adheres the crumudgeony demeanor he has set for himself, dresses classically, styles his hair classically, and uses his god-given features of a stoic face to keep people from getting too close.

Because it’s comfortable.

Because he doesn’t  want people to think he’s someone he’s not… someone he fears he actually is:

Someone who laughs at dumb dad jokes. Who makes silly faces to himself in the bathroom mirror. Who smiles when he has a good meal. Who’s good with kids. Who would kill for any animal. Who loves the few friends he has more than he would ever ever admit.

Someone in desperate need of a goddamn hug but doesn’t want to show weakness.

So when he first has to work with Steven doing Tasty videos he’s civil, but off put by how open and often times bright and smiley he is.

When he gets assigned to work with Steven on his new show, he thought, Well this is just for a little while, I’ll play along for now.

But he underestimated how touchy Steven is and how much Steven plays up his happy personality for the camera. He just seems so damn comfortable being himself.

So whenever Steven goes in for a hug or tries to relate to him he shrugs him away, cause Steven doesn’t know him like that. And he’s definitely not going to hug him on camera for millions of people to watch whenever they want. And when Steven talks about loving one of their male servers, Andrew teases him, speaking of his crushes on the women servers instead.

Because he’s not Steven. He’s not a bright or sunshiney. He’s not open. And he’s definitely not ambiguously queer. (He’s not.)

But working on Worth it seems to have no end in sight. And he learns that Steven isn’t all happy dances and truffles. After long shoots he shuts down, barely talking to him or Adam. He reads or listens to music to unwind. He is anxious before meeting the new people they have to meet constantly, visibly steeling himself in the car before they enter a restaurant. And he constantly compares himself to Andrew or Adam.

Steven has his own demons too.

After that realization, Andrew slowly accepts Steven’s efforts to get to know him. Accepting that, yes, maybe Steven does get him. Accepting the easy touches that Steven naturally gives. And sometimes, in private, accepting the all-embracing hugs Steven offers, leaning into him and sighing.

standrew christmas headcanons

steven starts blasting christmas music on december 1st and every morning andrew wakes up to the sound of his boyfriend singing off key. and he can’t even stay angry because hearing steven’s voice-no matter how terrible it sounds-is adorable and always makes andrew smile. 

andrew loves to cuddle on the couch with steven and hate watch sappy hallmark christmas movies (but steven helps bring out andrew’s inner romantic and he ends up rooting for the basic straight couples).

steven wants to go out and find the perfect christmas tree and andrew protests at first because he hates the cold, but steven manages to talk him into tagging along and they spend the whole afternoon looking at trees of different shapes and sizes. they can’t agree on which one to get (“andrew let’s get this one! it’s perfect!” “steven it’s too tall it won’t fit” “well we can cut a hole in the roof!”) but then they find a small kind of lonely looking tree that tugs at their heartstrings and they buy it instantly. 

andrew never really got the appeal of ugly christmas sweaters until steven gave him one-it was red, white, and green, it had rudolph’s face printed on, and the best part was that his nose was a blinking red light. it was hideous but it was also from steven so he absolutely loves it and proudly wears it out in public.

steven hangs mistletoe all over his and andrew’s place as an excuse to kiss andrew at random times (not that andrew minds, obviously).

when steven first meets andrew’s family it’s at their christmas dinner and needless to say he’s freaking out and worrying about whether they’ll like him but as soon as he steps through the front door he’s bombarded by smiles and welcoming hugs and even though he’s relieved, he’s not sure why they’re being so nice to someone who’s basically a stranger. but after dinner when everybody’s hanging out in the living room, andrew’s parents let it slip out that andrew’s been gushing about steven before they even started dating and that they’ve never seen anybody make their son so happy. andrew’s blushing and telling them to stop and steven comes to his rescue and changes the topic (but when they’re in the car he can’t help but lovingly tease andrew all the way home).

andrew ends up getting even though because when he meets steven’s parents the next year they tell him all kinds of embarrassing childhood stories that makes steven’s face turn red.

zach and eugene always invite them and the rest of buzzfeed to their annual christmas/ hanukkah party and this year’s starts out great. while andrew’s busy talking to some friends and he he doesn’t notice steven slip away to get some drinks. andrew doesn’t think much of it until he hears familiar drunken giggles over the speakers and he looks over at the karaoke machine where steven already has the mic in one hand and the song book in the other. he dedicates the song to his “amazing boyfriend” then starts singing last christmas (it’s a little slurred thanks to the many drinks he’s had but he looks like he’s having a blast). andrew laughs, not in a mean way but more in a oh god my boyfriend’s such a cute dork and he’s serenading me in front of all my coworkers way and he can’t help but fall a little more in love with steven.

on christmas morning andrew and steven wake up and snuggle together under the softest warmest blanket they have and they’re not doing anything particularly special, but they’re together and that makes it the best christmas ever.

• andrew wanted to surprise steven on their first date and it was to a restaurant and steven literally thought it was for an episode of worth it until andrew explained,, like no honey,,

• sometimes steven wakes up to andrew staring at him fondly, but when steven adresses it andrew denies it

• andrew always lowkey checking on steven,, nonchalantly asking him if he’s eaten or asking if he needs any assistance on some work

• holding hands in the car on the way home from dates

• they’re not big on pda but sometimes andrew likes to occasionally kiss steven’s temple

• steven buys andrew lunch everyday and everytime he does andrew’s heart swells

• steven taking care of sick andrew

Stadamdrew headcanons: Flirting 

Steven

Is confidently flirtatious but relatively harmless unless you’re Andrew

His flirting style is extremely cheesy as well as affectionate so it often brings a smile to both Adam and Andrew

He intentionally exaggerates it sometimes just so he could make them laugh and it warms his heart to see his boys happy

Will still 100% ask if he could hold hands with/kiss his partners each time he wants to because verbal consent reassures him that things are okay with them the most 

Andrew

Is the awkward flirt of the bunch- both Adam and Steven finds it cute

His flirting style consists of a lot of puns and clever wordplay. Steven groans each time but it’s apparent that he enjoys them anyways 

He’s the type to try to playfully poke or wrestle them but also embrace and keep them close to him.

Will 100% place affectionate kisses on the base of their shoulders/necks and play-bite when he’s particularly emotional/fond

 He doesn’t disturb Adam when he’s working with equipment though. There’s nothing in this world that’s more painful than being on the receiving end of a disappointed Adam™ stare

Adam 

Don’t be fooled by his quietness, he’s the pro at flirting out of the trio

Can easily fluster Steven by turning his compliments and lines back on him ( “How’s the cutest boy in this room? I don’t know. How are you, Steven?”)

He doesn’t vocalise his feelings very often but when he does, it’s the sweetest thing they can ever hear

He’s very careful and gentle when initiating a request for affection (sliding his hands over to take hold of both Andrew and Steven’s lightly, only doing so properly when they reach back etc)

Leaves really sappy notes for both Andrew and Steven to discover frequently.

Concept: Steven loves leaning against Andrew when he’s feeling particularly happy or content. They share their first kiss when, instead of pulling back flustered, he leans in the next time Andrew turns to look at him when he rested his head on his shoulder. 

It’s soft and chaste, more of a request than a proper kiss. But it forms into something sweet. Something that has him lighting up from the inside. He presses his face against Andrew’s chest, beaming. And he hears the familiar sound of Andrew clicking (popping?) his tongue.

I think about this often and I feel like I should share since it wrecks me every time.

Andrew and Steven often stand really close together. Imagine Andrew casually wrapping his arm around Steven’s slim waist, hand resting on his hipbone and just holding him close to his side.

Cryin in the club listening to jet lag by simple plan

okay first off, I’ve never head this song so I’m baffled Natasha Bedingfield did a collab with Simple Plan, second this song is so cheesy i love it

third, imagine this from Andrew’s POV, trying to wrap his mind around Steven leaving, not wanting him to go, but not having a good enough reason for him not to leave, so he accepts him leaving, wishing him good luck in his new home and suggesting places for him to check out since he did his BA in NYC (my headcanon since idk for sure). But he tries to keep up with him, at work and then after work, the four hour time difference not TOO bad, but noticeable and significant enough. 

It’s not really the first time he’s had to compensate for the time difference either, since they do so much work with the NY Buzzfeed offices, he knows whens the best time to contact them. But it FEELS different and he doesn’t know why. But he kinda does and it scares him too
