He wanted it known that he did not blame you for the fatal shot he sustained while attempting to pull you from the building. It was - (his words) - a lucky shot. Again, our condolences."
Valerie was still dirty and bedraggled after the ordeal. She was still in the hospital when the memo was given to her. As she read it, a hand went to her mouth and she teared up. “I love you too.” She looked up and whispered to John. She didn’t exactly know if she believed in heaven, but somehow John had to know how she felt. Sighing, she rolled on her side and silently wept into her pillow.
