I shot probably 40 long exposures over the course of an hour as I walked around and fired a handheld flash from different angles and distances trying to get exactly the exposure I was looking for.

My astro club (The Palouse Astronomical Society’s) first star party in a year, held at my workplace the Palouse Discovery Science Center. Hoping to make these a regular monthly thing. Great turnout last night! Lots of light pollution but still stars, and great company.

The Slooh Ambassadors (which includes me) have been working on this Women are From Venus star party that hopes to encourage women to participate in astronomy!

A telegram she had sent, an invitation,

A handwritten note, with little stars too,

A star party she had called it,

Perhaps only to grasp my attention,

Shouldn't really have bothered to be honest,

Her note was just about enough,

To make me run head over heels to her,

Star party or not, for her I'd cross oceans,

Grace the skies, for she was my star,

My north star, and I meant to tell her,

At this star party!
