Completed star shawl, made with Sultan Deluxe yarn from Hobbii. I really love how the beaded tassels really make the rest of the textured design of this shawl *pop*.

What was supposed to be a quick chunky project for my sister’s birthday ended up pretty extravagant after I found this gorgeous purple fingering yarn at a local trunk show! Oops! It turned out so cool though, combined with the leftovers of this sock kit, so I can’t regret it too much. The idea was to make something star-related and magical, since her current DnD character is a circle of stars cleric! Definitely my biggest crochet project, and my first time crocheting something bigger with fingering weight yarn- kinda terrifying, but turned out so lovely. And only 5 days late…
Yarn: All gorgeous stuff from local dyers! Oranges are ‘Reverie’ sock kit by Woollen Wytch, blue/purple is ‘Twilight Swim’ by Partridge Yarns (new on the scene!), all bought from my lovely local shop Alterknit Universe
Pattern: Started off using this star shawl tutorial by Heart and Craft as a base, then added elements from these two from Hooked by Robin for the eyelets, improvising to stay in the star shape. Added simple chain loops and these tiny stars (also Hooked by Robin) around the edge! I had to fudge a fair bit after losing count and being inconsistent as it got bigger - oops - but it was a great learning experience since I’m still a pretty new crocheter!
Happy Birthday June <3
Managed to use up most of the balls with plenty of solid orange left over for tassels! I decided to wet block it so I could better shape it during blocking. I definately didn’t get precious about getting the edges nice & straight either 😂
