THAT ENDING WHAT THE FUCK. I ONLY GOT THE ESSENCE OF COMMUNITY ON MY PLAYTHROUGH (it fucking destroyed me it was so wholesome) AND I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT THAT GLOBE IN THAT RECLUSE GIRL'S APARTMENT BUT I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE KEY IN COMMUNITY AND WHAT SHE SAYS TO YOU AND THE MUSIC AND THE MOON AND STARS. AND I DIDN'T KNOW THE TWO GIRLS WITH THAT RELATIONSHIP HAD THAT SCENE AND IT JUST?? IT FELT SO RIGHT?? In the green world i wish tin had apologised to copper but the scene with lorena also felt so nice. also where do you get that white flower you give to the florist?? and who was the jerk she was in love with? was it the artist or the priest or??? tbh i wish there was something you could do with reconciliation's statue, like clean it up or smth, but the ending the world gets was good enough. I was running through literally all the worlds screaming in my mind "I WANT TO HELP PLEASE LET ME HELP I WANT TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY" dhsfjk i got so attached to everyone

3.) any recurring images/elements?

I'd like to keep very vague about the specifics for the most part, but a lot of it has to do with duality. What does duality mean, what does it mean for something to be apart of a duality? Sameness? Difference? Wholeness? Segmentation? etc.

10.) if your story is titled, why did you choose that title?

Gemini is named after the Machine Girl album of the same name. it's not actually directly inspired from it at all, but a lot of the themings of that album really resonate with it. I was telling my friend nep about how much I wish I had a name for the story at some point and how nothing felt as perfect as the way the name Gemini fit the album, and it suggested that I should just name it that. LOL! Ironically, there are no actual twins in Gemini.

13.) how long have you been working on this project? what has changed from the outset?

I think I had initially thought of Gemini around 4-5 years ago. It manifested from something of a game to myself where I wanted to think of the most self-indulgent story concept ever possible. It's still very self-indulgent, but it's pretty different now! Proto Gemini had much more of a mech/sports vibe going for it, and was slightly more fantastical rather than strictly ungrounded and bizarre sci-fi, but none of that is really around anymore.

percy (he/him):

a very, very laid back former soldier who skipped the usual self-awareness identity and gender crisis by simply Not Caring. gained his freedom through ~mysterious~ ways, and once recovered, decided 'hm yeah sure i'm a guy i'm gonna cut my hair, fuck off and do what i want :]' and proceeded to do just that.

used to be friends with caret and fleuron, though carrie has an intense (one-sided) rivalry with him because she's annoyed by his care-free attitude. she doesn't actually genuinely despise him, but she does get a bit over the top about it, and he couldn't care less lmao. fleuron just thought he was lucky, though they wouldn't admit it, they're a little jealous.

he does mean well, but his laid back nature is a blessing and a curse - he wants to be nice to people and goes with the flow, accepting of pretty much anything... but also finds it hard to show Actual Emotions beyond 'chill vibes yo', or feel genuine empathy for others/understand their emotional problems, leading to unintentional rudeness at times :(

observer (they/them):

a witch with a planet-sized ego whose magic speciality is scrying, a service which they'll perform (at a price) for others. their other notable magic skill is the ability to travel through reflections (they can't teleport) - something they often have to use since they like to rile up others despite a lack of fighting prowess LMAO they're a bit of a bastard. in a fight they rely on their quick reflexes and an ability to generate blinding flashes of light, and as a last resort can create mirror clones, though not for long and it leaves them quite disorientated afterwards.

despite their huge ego, they're a lot kinder than they like to let on, having played a role in percy's freedom - they try to stay out of current events but will (reluctantly) go out of their way to help others if asked to, though they don't enjoy doing it, complaining that it ruins their reputation as a ~mysterious figure of knowledge~

as mentioned earlier, they and percy are in a vaguely romantic relationship - percy's immune to their bullshit and they're understanding of his limitations, and genuinely enjoy his company! he's the one who gave them the nickname 'serv', which they're secretly quite fond of, not that they'd let it show

(also percy's a dumbass (affectionate) and they're a raging morosexual)

the general (any pronouns but leans towards male ones for self-reference):

so a while ago a friend on discord made a joke about the leader of the robot army being called 'punctuation', so i made a design... and got way too attached because i never learn my lesson :')

their name's general punctuation and they're basically a very glorified figurehead/signal repeater - while they technically have full control over their country's army, they're unable to act on their own without approval from their handlers and are very, very tied up in programmed loyalty. on the outside they come off as the perfect leader, calm and in control, very good for propaganda, but internally they're a total mess of suppressed desires for freedom (being the signal repeater for what's basically a hivemind isn't very fun) and Robot Angst(tm) - one day they'll be able to realise what they want and free themself, but it'll take a long time lol

Lately I've wanted to draw fanart of railgunner, void fiend and rex from risk of rain 2, but idk if I ever will.

Hehe, this is such an indulgent question. I like drawing Tynk because she's fat and made of squares and I like drawing Irene because she's tall and made of cones.

This is discounting "comfort characters" I cycle through like Vivian or Harley Quinn or like... Sollux I guess. I always have a fun time drawing them.

Conversely, I don't draw Churla very much because I have to relearn how her horns go every single time =,_,=
