(Talking to Chagen) First of all, I haven't been talking to you in anything other than insults because I've felt there's no point in doing anything else. I've dealt with a ton of people like you and they all react the same. It's just a hobby so it doesn't need to be perfect. If you don't like my work don't read it. The people that like my stuff outnumber you therefore I'm good. Blah blah blah. I've lost the desire to waste time trying to get people to improve when they just don't want to. I used to act almost the exact same way you did, and I didn't have people sternly telling me to cut it out. I had people insisting I was a terrible person and creating threads devoted to numbered lists of why I was such a terrible person. Mod-approved numbered lists of why I was such a terrible person. I was an annoying, self-righteous prick about stuff too, and after being one and coming out of it relatively unscathed and having learned from the experience, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. That's why I'm telling you now. Cut it out before you piss off the wrong person.

What I'm learning as I trawl this thread, is that a surprising amount of the Chagen fiasco actually happened on auxiliary threads, like the Alternate Character Compendium or my own Original Character Compendium. Going through the main thread, he's mercifully scarce, but it leads to some bizzare jumps in the plotline, as it is. By the time Stark made this post (which is actually a lot longer than what you see here), there were already a lot of arguments had in the other threads, to the point where I'm already getting flippant about them:

Wow! Chagen actually quoted his fanfic? Everyone place your bets! How long will it be before Karkat Stark finds this and starts complaining, and how long will Stark & Chagen argue?

However, the year is still young. Most of the posters still seem generally supportive of Chagen at this point, in a "I'm not that thrilled by this, but if you write what you want then more power to you" sort of way. It will be interesting to watch this change as time progresses.

Stark Maximum: I apparently pronounce Keine wrong because I think it's "kay-nay" or something like that, you pronounce the last E, but whatever I just say "kayne" because it sounds cooler.

SuperDimensionMan: I'm sure there's a "Citizen Keine" joke to be had there, but nothing's coming to mind.

Fawriel: Citizen Keine. Wait, goddammit. SDM stole that one. ...Scarlet Devilman.

SuperDimensionMan: Don't compare me to him! Scarlet Devilman is my sworn enemy, that good-for-nothing, back-stabbing, recurrently-villainous fanboy!

Fawriel: Stormtroper, what purpose is the picture supposed to fulfill? There's plenty of pictures of Patchouli (including official ones, which do at least show you the design of the clothes pretty well most of the time), so what exactly do you have in mind?

Stormtrooper: I was thinking of reference images for 3D modeling.

Fawriel: Ah, that. I thought so. Well, other important question: Skinny or chubby Patchy?
