About Starlight: Starlight Nova is the adopted child of Sonic and Shadow, with no one really knowing how they came to be. They were found in a forest and are currently living with Shadow as their main caretaker. They're shy and a bit awkward, and they love sweets like ice cream!

About Glam: The prodigal son of Mighty the Armadillo and Manic the Hedgehog, he was born with one brain cell that hardly finds itself being used. What he lacks in wit, he makes up for in both heart and personality, both of which are larger than life.

Starlight the mimic (some story/lore under the cut)

Starlight hadn't been very comfortable around Sonic and Shadow until around a year after they adopted her. Eventually they started referring to Sonic as 'Dad' and Shadow 'Daddy' (and on mother's day they celebrate him as their mother) which made Shadow a bit emotional and Sonic ecstatic! (Even if he didn't really want a kid). Though they co-parent Starlight, Sonic and Shadow aren't in a relationship and don't plan to get in one. Starlight isn't aware of this.

Starlight tends to mimic body language of those they care about, the main example being Shadow, as he is the one they are around the most. They've been around mobians and mobian culture since they were 6 (being 14 now) but still miss some social cues and don't talk all that much, sometimes not talking at all even if spoken to. Rather than exploring their own interests, they watch others and mimic theirs as a way to bond with them.

Around the time Starlight turned 12, Sonic disappeared and didn't show up again for a few months. In that entire period, Starlight would constantly be asking where he was, only to be met with hesitant reassurance from Shadow. When Sonic came back he informed Starlight that he was on an adventure to find all the seven Chaos Emeralds to make sure Dr Eggman didn't 'show up and ruin their good times' which Starlight was happy about, but still upset that Sonic wouldn't be home as much as before.

Starlight has the ability to glow, but it uses alot of energy so they rarely do it, mostly only using it when their friend Kikuzakura gets afraid in the dark. The main reason that Shadow and Sonic took Starlight in is because of their levels of chaos energy. If they come in close contact with the master emerald or all seven chaos emerald at once, their energy levels have the chance of being too high, causing a high risk of death for Starlight. This is the main reason Shadow is very protective of them, not letting them go out without him, Rouge, Sonic or one of Rouge's kids (Carmine and Ivory).

About Rush: Rush is the son of Sonic and Jet, and by Gaia does he wish he wasn't. Well, that's not true. He just wishes they would get their shit together. For as long as Rush can remember, the two of them have been on again, off again, over and over, each time insisting that "this time, it'll be different"—but of course, it never is. As a kid, Rush was devastated every time they told him they were breaking up, and overjoyed whenever they got back together. Now, though, he's just… tired of it all. Rush is a cyclist, and he’s happiest when by himself. Thanks to his parents’ whole situation, he spends a lot of time with Amy and her family—largely against his will—but he’d always much rather be on his own, riding off into the night. At least then, he can pretend that he’s free.
