XIAO
★ The adeptus had been thinking of you all day, distracting himself from his work. Each thought dragged him deeper and deeper into a hot and bothered feeling that he couldn’t ignore for much longer.
★ Eventually, the task of taking out hilichurls became too difficult with his growing desire, so he fled home to see you.
A sudden noise behind you in your shared bedroom scared you out of your skin, your heart pounding in your chest as you spun around to see what the loud thud was. Your partner had let his polearm fall to the floor after he had teleported into the room, and was now pacing over to where you stood.
“Xiao? Is everything okay?” You had never seen so much emotion expressed on his face, but you couldn’t seem to place your finger on what emotion it was exactly.
Without responding, he crashed his lips against yours, snatching your breath from your lungs. He kept walking, backing you up against the wall where he grabbed your wrists and pinned them above you.
“Xiao?” You managed to ask between kisses. It wasn’t a complaint, but a curious question.
He held you in place with so much care, gentleness, as if he were afraid to hurt you, but his actions were still filled with just as much passion.
“Not now,” he growled, pressing himself closer to you. Xiao didn’t know what was happening either. All he could process was the urge to feel you close to him, to feel skin on skin. He wanted all of you, no, he needed all of you.
You melted into his touch, the warmth that radiated off of him, and kissed back just as fervently.
Without warning, the door opened beside you, revealing a familiar geo archon. “Y/N, do you happen to know where-“ Zhongli stopped his words, the question he was about to ask being answered when he took in the scene before him. “Ah, I shall see the two of you later.” He quickly backed out and shut the door behind him.
Xiao dropped your hands and rested his head on your shoulder, cursing under his breath. “What is he even doing here?” A bright red coloured his face and the tips of his ears, making you chuckle.
“Next time,” you kissed the top of your partner’s head, “we’ll lock the door.”
GOROU
★ War was a tough time for everyone, especially for you and your partner. When you used to spend almost all your time together, now you hadn’t seen him in months.
★ You missed him so much that it hurt you. That’s why you decided to sneak into the camp he was currently stationed in to see him.
Frantically looking around, checking on your surroundings every few seconds, you snuck your way up to a grand tent that you knew for sure that your general would be in. You slipped past the entrance, hiding to make sure nobody was around before heading into a partitioned section you knew had to be Gorou’s office.
A head of brown hair looked up from where it stared at battle plans and your partner’s eyes widened in shock. “Y/N? What are you doing here?”
“I miss you, can I not come and see you?” Matching wide smiles appeared on both of your faces as you approached him and reached your arms around his neck. You pressed your mouth to his and pushed yourself into his lap where he sat.
Between gasps of air, Gorou managed to reply, “of course you can.” His hands found their way to your waist. The general began to say something else, but he decided it wasn’t as important as the person capturing his attention.
You ran your hands through his hair, stroking the back of his ears which had Gorou breathing heavily against you. His tail twitched in excitement as you felt his fingers dig into you.
“Looks like someone’s happy to see me,” you whispered against his ear, smirking as you drew soft circles on them.
Your partner growled in annoyance and grabbed your chin to return your mouth to his. He hadn’t realised how much he needed you while he was away. You were his air, his life, he needed you in order to survive.
As you ran your hand up his chest, kissing back passionately as Gorou pulled you closer to him, you didn’t hear someone enter the tent.
“Gorou? Are you alright? We have a-” Kazuha halted his words when he saw what was happening in front of him. He coughed nervously as a flustered look appeared on his face and turned around. “We have a meeting with Lady Kokomi soon. I suggest you prepare yourself.”
“Kazuha! Wait!” Your partner called out, still holding onto you, but it was too late. The samurai had already fled the scene.
“Ah, sorry,” you apologised, knowing that if you weren’t there he wouldn’t have had to embarrass himself in front of his friend.
“No, please, you don’t need to be sorry. It’s my fault too.” The general rested his head on your shoulder, torn between continuing with you or preparing for his war meeting.
You squeezed his shoulder, which caused him to look up, and kissed the tip of his nose. “Go and get ready.” This was a war, you couldn’t be selfish and take one of the most skilled generals of the Watatsumi Army away from them.
He placed a soft one onto your lips too. “Wait for me, I will see you later. That’s a promise.”

KAEYA
★ You weren’t quite sure why, but your partner had seemed a little more stressed as of late. Whether it was the extra work that had been piled on top of him or for some other reason, it hurt you to see him like that.
★ When you tried to get to the bottom of the problem, you were met with harsh words that you didn’t expect to come from his mouth.
Kaeya’s fist curled around his potential tenth cup of alcohol and tightened, threatening to crush the glass in his palm. His words became more heated as he spoke with the knight next to him, his breathing getting more ragged. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to injure himself and that was the last thing you wanted to happen.
“Kaeya? Are you okay?” You shuffled closer next to him to try and get his attention. He’d had too much to drink, that was clear, but you didn’t know what exactly was bothering him.
When you received no reply, you tried again, placing a hand on his back. “Kaeya? What’s the-”
“And you,” he spat. “Can you shut up for once in your life?”
You felt a sharp pain in your chest, your heart pained by his cruel words. Were you the reason he was so upset? You couldn’t be. What had you done to wrong him?
As you shuffled backwards and stood from your chair, you made eye contact with the red-headed bartender who had been listening in to your conversation. He looked as if he was about to beat his brother into the following week for saying that to his own partner. Shaking your head sadly, you hoped Diluc got your message to not cause too much of a scene.
Perhaps it was just the alcohol making him act that way and everything he would be okay in the morning. It had to be, right?
★ For that night, you decided to sleep over at your friend’s house as you didn’t want to be around Kaeya if he was going to be grumpy and mean.
★ When the Cavalry Captain returned home, he expected you to be there, however, you were nowhere in sight. Assuming you would turn up later, he passed out on your bed and hoped you would be in his arms in the morning.
When morning arrived, the space next to him was cold and empty, the sheets not having moved since he got into them. Maybe he was wrong and it was just his mind overthinking.
With panic sending adrenaline through his veins, he got out of bed and searched your home for you. He was right, nothing had changed. Your coat wasn’t hanging up by the door, no cushions had been touched on the sofa where you might have slept. Nothing. So, where were you?
You hadn’t come home, that much was obvious, but had you been taken? Snatched off the streets while he was occupied and unable to protect you? Kaeya couldn’t even remember why you had left without him.
After quickly pulling on some clothes, he rushed to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters to see if you had turned up for work. You couldn’t be gone, he refused to believe it. If you were, he’d do anything to get you back. It would all be because of his careless actions.
The Cavalry Captain flung the doors to your office open to find that empty too. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, causing it to hurt as his breathing increased in pace too. You weren’t gone. You were safe in some place that simply wasn’t coming to his mind because he was panicking.
The Acting Grandmaster would know if you had turned up for work, he was sure of it. Before he could think, his feet led him to Jean’s office where he burst through the doors.
“Y/N’s gone- they-”
“Ah, Kaeya,” your voice floated through the air, making his knees nearly buckle with relief, “I see you’ve sobered up now.” Jean sat behind her desk and stood before it was you, alive and safe.
He walked over to you and pulled you into his arms, fiercely pushing your head against his chest and squeezing you tightly. “Where were you? I’ve been searching for you all morning. Did you not come home last night?”
“Well, I went to stay at a friend’s house because you obviously didn’t want me home.” You pushed him away and crossed your arms, a saddened yet angered expression on your face.
Confusion washed over him before he recalled the words he had said to you. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I was- I drank too much last night because I was stressed and took it out on you. I’ll never do it again, I promise.” Kaeya reached out his hand towards you, needing you back in his arms to assure himself that you truly weren’t missing. “Can you forgive me?”
Who were you kidding? Of course you would forgive him. You knew he didn’t mean it when he said it earlier, and now the pained look that spread across his features hurt you too.
You nodded and walked back into his arms. “Just don’t do it again.”
Kaeya kissed the top of your head and tilted up your chin so he could reach your lips too. “Talk to me if something that I did bothers you. We’ll get through it. Please, don’t run away and leave me again.”
GOROU
★ Being a general of the Watasumi Army meant that Gorou had a lot of pressure and expectations put onto his shoulders.
★ You wanted to offer him your help to see if there was anything you could do to lighten that weight, but your attempt was turned down with cold words.
Your partner had his back turned to you, hunched over a map of Inazuma with figures placed on the table to act as the Watasumi Army and the Vision Hunt Decree. Even from across the room, you could feel the irritation radiating from him. It hurt seeing his tail hanging low and his ears pressed against his head in stress.
“Hey Gorou,” you walked up to him and placed a hand on his back, “why don’t you take a little break for now and come back to this later?”
When you received no reply and you noticed his fist grip a figure of The Resistance more tightly, your hand moved up and down in a soothing motion. “A break might allow you to come back with a fresh perspective and come up with a new idea.”
Still nothing. If you listened closely, you swore you could hear a faint growling sound emitting from his throat.
“Maybe I could help you?” You suggested, walking around the table so you could see the map better. “If you let me know what you’ve got so far I could-”
“Can you shut up for once in your life?” He snapped, the figure breaking in his hands. “I’m trying to concentrate but all I can hear is your annoying voice.”
Water welled in your eyes. “Gorou- I-"
“Leave me alone, please.” The general’s words were bitter as he placed the bottom half of the figure back into the map.
You did as he commanded, your feet leading you to the training grounds where you could find some solace. He didn’t mean that right? Were you annoying in his eyes? Perhaps the reason why he didn’t see you much wasn’t that he was busy, but because he didn’t even want to be with you.
As you wiped a stray tear from your cheek, a loud shout drew your attention. “The Vision Hunt Decree is attacking! Soldiers, move out!”
★ The Shogun’s forces had gathered on the shoreline to prepare themselves to attack your camp, giving you a perfect chance to ambush them.
★ While the fight was brutal, it was surprisingly quick as the Vision Hunt Decree decided to retreat before they could be wiped out completely, meaning that there weren’t many fatalities or casualties.
★ Afterwards, however, you needed to return to camp where the harsh words of your partner still lingered.
Your partner had seen you briefly on the frontlines, but now he couldn’t find you anywhere. All that ran through his mind was a hollow echo of the horrible words he had growled at you, and the constant fear that you hadn’t made it back alive from the fight.
Gorou rushed to the medic’s tent, hoping you had only been injured instead. He pushed past people crowding to see their friends, scanning each bed for your familiar face. However, you weren’t in any of them. He didn’t know whether to be relieved or even more concerned.
After wandering around the resistance’s camp in search of any sign of you, cursing himself constantly for treating you poorly as he did so, he finally found you sat with some other soldiers to recover and rest from the fight.
“Y/N!” Gorou called as he rushed over to you and pulled you into his arms. “I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said that to you. When I couldn’t find you after the ambush, I was so worried.”
The general’s ears laid flat against his head in sorrow, causing your heart to lurch with pain and regret for not finding him sooner. Though, when you arrived back at the camp, you didn’t know if your partner wanted to see you again or not.
You pressed a kiss to his forehead. “It’s okay. You’re stressed and under a lot of pressure, I understand.” Resisting the urge to turn around and glare at some of your friends, you ignored the sarcastic kissing noises they made behind you.
“Are you hurt?” Gorou let go of you, checking your body for any sign of wound or injury.
“I’m fine, only a few scratches and bruises that will heal in no time. What about you?”
His ears perked back up a little and his tail swayed from side to side as he sighed in relief. “I’m fine too.” Your partner rested his head on your shoulder, repeating over and over in his head that you were okay, you were safe.
“You don’t think I’m annoying, do you?” You murmured into his ear, sending shivers down his spine.
“No, never!” He took your face between his palms, squishing your cheeks together slightly. “If you annoyed me, I wouldn’t be dating you. I love hearing your voice. Sometimes, it’s the best part of my day.”

CHILDE
★ The harbinger had a ton of work piled on him by the Tsaritsa, which was beginning to take its toll. Normally he was on top of his job, being productive every day, but now it was getting a little too much and it was beginning to stress him out.
★ You decided to help him with some of the easier and less dangerous tasks, hoping to ease some of the weight off of his shoulders, but you felt as though your assistance wasn’t wanted.
The treasure hoarders you had been tracking for hours finally made a stop for a rest. You and your partner hid behind a rock, listening in to their conversations to get the information that the cryo archon wanted. He had only agreed to let you come because he didn’t intend for any confrontation, and two pairs of ears were always better than one in this situation.
You turned to look behind you, making sure the coast was clear. Coming up over the hill was another group of treasure hoarders, directly in your line of sight. They were going to approach and see you, blowing your cover.
“Childe,” You hissed in a whisper, tugging on his sleeve. Despite your worry and obvious need to talk to him, he ignored you, leaning in closer to listen to his targets.
“Childe!” You tried again a little louder, watching as the treasure hoarders drew closer each second.
“Can you shut up for once in your life?” Your partner turned back to look at you. Where the words wouldn’t have necessarily hurt you, the glare of pure hatred that followed threatened to shatter your heart.
“Hey!” The treasure hoarders that you had spied called, drawing their weapons and running towards you. You drew your weapon as the other enemies you had been watching became alerted to your presence.
Flashing the harbinger an annoyed I-told-you-so look, you charged into battle, heading towards the smaller group to take some of them out. Behind you, you heard Childe do the same, targeting the main group of treasure hoarders instead.
★ The battle was tiresome but not exactly long due to your partner’s excellent fighting skills. It was also made easier by the ambush advantage the two of you had.
★ When the fighting was over, you both began to walk home. Whenever Childe tried to make conversation, you ignored him, keeping an awkward silence.
★ As you got home, you only cleaned yourself up a little and put your weapon away before heading out to Liyue Harbour to get some fresh air, hoping that another long walk would clear your mind.
Perhaps you were being too tough with Childe. He only wanted you to be quiet so he could hear the information being said, nothing more. But did he have to do it in such a mean way? You were only trying to warn him that your cover was going to be blown.
You strolled around Liyue, visiting some shops and seeing some friends in hopes to cheer you up. Even the consultant at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour, who your partner seemed to be good friends with, tried to console you about your problem, saying that Childe likely didn’t mean it.
Doing this, you lost track of time, only realising when you looked to the dimming sky.
“Y/N?” You heard Childe call in the distance, panic laced through his voice. Was he okay? What was going on?
You rushed over to his location, placing a hand on his back. “Are you-”
You were cut off by Childe placing his hands on either side of your face and kissing you, then pulling you into a hug. “You’re still here,” he murmured into your neck, his arms tightening around you. He’d likely used his fatui agents to get your general location.
“What? Where did you think I was?” You returned the hug, happy that his worries were now dissipating.
“You looked mad at me, so I thought you’d just left me and you would never return.” He breathed in deeply, taking in your scent that he loved so much. “I’m glad you’re here.”
Your arms dropped to your sides, the memories of what he had done returning. “I am still mad at you.”
Childe pulled back from the hug, still keeping you close by resting his hands on your shoulders. “I’m truly sorry for talking to you like that today, I never want to do that again. I was just stressed and trying to finish the mission so I could spend the rest of the day with you. You were just trying to warn me of the treasure hoarders approaching us, that was a good thing to do.”
You nodded, understanding where he was coming from. “I forgive you.”
The beaming smile that appeared on his lips made your heart flutter in your chest. “Thank you.” He tugged on your arm leading you towards some of the restaurants. “Come on, let me take you out for dinner.”
XIAO
★ The two of you had set off early that morning as the adeptus had sensed some karma affected hilichurls in the area that he wanted to deal with. You had offered to help as you didn’t have any commissions that day and you wanted to spend your time with your partner.
★ However, as the day progressed and the more you searched, you couldn’t seem to find any of the enemies he thought he knew the whereabouts of, leaving him in a sour mood.
★ You headed home after searching for nearly the whole day, and to make matters even worse, the lift at Wangshu Inn was broken, forcing you to climb the stairs all the way up.
“Can’t you just teleport us up to the top with your adeptus powers?” You whined, your shoulders slumped and your feet dragging against the wooden panels. Your body ached from all the walking you had been doing, you hadn’t even stopped for a break as Xiao had wanted to find something to hunt down.
“No,” he snapped in reply, walking in front of you with his arms crossed. “It’s good for your muscles. Quit complaining.”
The adeptus felt his eye twitch in annoyance. He loved you, he really did. But when you had been talking to him for the whole journey back when all he wanted to do was reflect on his mistakes in solitude, he was beginning to grow a little tired of you.
“But Xiao,” you whimpered then sighed in frustration. “How will it be good for my muscles when they’ve already had the most gruelling workout in their lifetime?”
“Can you shut up for once in your life? All you do is talk.” He stormed off ahead of you, taking the stairs two at a time to get away, leaving you standing still.
What had just happened? Sure, you were complaining a little too much, but did he have to be so harsh about it? He was harsh by nature, that was just the way he worked, but as the two of you grew closer, this shield had shattered to reveal his true caring personality. Why had he reverted to his previous self?
You continued after him, not as fast as you were prepared to give him a little space to cool off, but you still wanted an explanation soon. There was also the fact that your tired legs couldn’t even comprehend the thought of chasing after him.
As you walked on, the wooden panels beneath you began to creak. Thinking nothing of it, you ignored it, trying to come up with something to say to Xiao.
All of a sudden, one of the panels broke from under you, making you cry out in surprise and reach out in hopes to grab onto the bannister. You missed, your fingertips just grazing your safety.
With a scream you flailed in the air, panic consuming you. This was your end, after hoping you’d die valiantly in battle with your partner by your side, this was it. You’d die by falling.
Xiao had nearly made it to the top of the inn when he heard a scream sound from below him. At first, he thought nothing of it, assuming it to be one of the guests creating a lot of noise, but it felt familiar to him. It was something he often heard in his dreams, begging for your cries of pain and fear not to come true. It was you.
Without a second thought, he dashed over the edge of the inn and searched for you. He found you with tears streaming down your face, plummeting towards the ground, he didn’t have long left until you hit it.
With all the power he could muster, using his anemo vision to curve the wind so he could fall faster than you were, he dived after you, hoping that he wouldn’t be too late.
You closed your eyes, bracing yourself for impact. This was it. You wished Xiao could find it in him to forgive you for leaving him so soon.
Arms wrapped around your waist and back, pulling you close to a warm body. For a moment you were still falling and then in the next, you were on solid ground again, still clinging on to your saviour.
“Why didn’t you call my name?” The adeptus growled, still holding onto you too. He tried to hide the shaking of his hands, but you could still clearly notice it.
“You told me to be quiet, so I did,” you murmured, feeling ashamed for saying such a thing. It had been a life or death situation. If he hadn’t heard your fall you’d been a goner. But to be truthful, the thought hadn’t even crossed your mind. You’d been too busy panicking about your sudden demise.
“Look,” he began, his voice full of anger at both himself and you, “I’m sorry for saying that to you. It wasn’t right of me. But you can’t just let some petty thing get in the way of your safety, okay?”
You nodded, burying your face into his neck so you could calm your racing heart from its fall.
★ The two of you stayed there embraced in each other’s arms, not caring which guests had made it their business to stare at you.
★ You were safe. That was all that mattered. Xiao refused to think of an alternative.
DILUC
★ The Darknight Hero of Mondstadt had finally found some tracks of multiple abyss mages that he was following, after searching for so long.
★ As you knew how important this was to him, you offered to come along to act as another set of eyes. While he was checking the more obscure clues, you could watch out to see if you were walking straight into them.
★ He accepted your help, knowing that he would be there to defend you (even though he didn’t like the thought of putting you in danger in the first place) and it would help track the mages faster.
Diluc knelt on the ground, carefully looking for the elemental residue that the abyss left while you stood behind him, looking out and explaining your past experience with the group. If you did so, maybe it would give him more clues as to what exactly they were trying to do.
“When they attacked me a while back they were searching for some sort of mechanical component. I think they talked about some eye maybe? Anyways,” you continued to talk, not noticing the way your partner’s jaw clenched as he tried his hardest to search for the tracks he needed.
His hands clenched as he concentrated, attempting to zone you out of his mind.
“They were searching for it in ruin guards, so if we can get close enough to their location we can lure them in by-”
“Can you shut up for once in your life?” Diluc spat, his tone incredibly harsh, not turning around from where he was crouched down.
You were taken aback, shutting your mouth instantly. He was never like this. The man was always calm and collected, never as fiery as his vision suggested. Did he not want you to be here? Had he just let you tag along because you’d be upset otherwise? So, now you were just a nuisance in his way.
If that was what he wanted, you were in no place to deny him of that.
★ Silently leaving his side, you walked back the way you came until you reached the Dawn Winery.
★ The maids questioned why you had come back alone, asking if their master needed any help, picking up on your sad mood. You told them he was fine, he just didn’t need you, and then sat by the fireplace.
★ He couldn’t have meant it, right? You were just overanalysing his words too much. You had to be.
“I think they’re in this direction,” Diluc called out to you pointing towards a thick canopy of trees. After you’d given him some quiet, he had been able to concentrate on his elemental sight, figuring out where they went. However, when he turned around to wait for your response, he found that you weren’t there.
“Y/N?” He shouted, getting up and looking around for any sign of where you could be. When he came to the conclusion that you were gone, panic set in. The abyss mages must have gotten to you while he was too focused on their tracks.
Grabbing his claymore, he set off in the direction he had just discovered they were in, anger filling his veins. If you were injured or worse, he’d kill them all. He would slaughter every last one of them.
★ He searched all day, not stopping for breaks, until he could hardly walk anymore. The moon already shone in the sky and there was still no sight nor sign of you.
★ That was when he decided to head back home to gather up some more people for a search party. You couldn’t be gone, not just like that.
You woke from where you had fallen asleep on the couch, the fire likely kept alight by the maids, you could hear a loud commotion happening by the entrance. Standing and making your way over, to your partner shouting orders.
“I need you to,” he swallowed his pride, shaking his head to get his thoughts straight. “I need you to contact the Knights and get them to arrange a search party as soon as they possibly can. Y/N, they’re…” He couldn’t bring himself to say the words.
“Diluc?” You called from where you stood, quickly walking over to comfort your partner in his dishevelled state. “What’s wrong?” If he was getting the knights involved, it must have been pretty serious. He would usually stay as far away from them as he could.
“Y/N!” He flung himself onto you, picking you up and bringing you close to him, squeezing the life out of you. Diluc didn’t care who was watching, even when he tried to keep affection to the audience of just the two of you, needing to feel you to convince himself you were okay.
You tapped his shoulder to get him to loosen his grasp before you suffocated. “Hey, what’s wrong?” Hugging him back, you rubbed circles on his back, knowing that it usually calmed him down.
“You.” He pulled back from your embrace, cupping your face in his hands. “I thought you had been taken by the abyss mages. Why didn’t you tell me you had left? I wouldn’t have minded.” The lingering tears in his eyes made them sparkle unnaturally.
The memories of earlier appeared fresh in your mind, especially the hurt you had felt. You pouted. “Well, it didn’t seem like you wanted me there, so I left. You wanted quiet, so I didn’t say anything.”
He hung his head in shame at his own actions, holding you tightly once more. “I’m so sorry, my love. Please forgive me for my harsh words. I just wanted to find those mages, think nothing of it. Now all I wish for is for you to be safe.”
You smiled warmly, inwardly cursing yourself for making your partner so stressed. “I forgive you, and I also apologise for not informing you that I was leaving. That was a bad move on my part.”
★ Diluc abandoned his Darknight Hero duties for the night, refusing to leave your side. He’d work to make sure he never upset you in such a way ever again.

ALBEDO
★ Every year, Mondstadt held a winter fete to help bring more tourists into the City of Freedom. One night in winter, all of the shops would set up stalls for customers to buy food or presents for their loved ones, or even play games with each other.
★ Attending this was always a tradition for you and your partner.
Mondstadt had outdone themselves this year as the decorations were breathtaking. Changing colour lights hung from the tops of houses, giving the street below a warm glow. The flower beds that usually lined the cobble walkways had been replaced with faux holly bushes, contrasting perfectly with the snow that had settled onto the ground earlier that morning.
You tugged on Albedo’s hand, tearing his gaze away from some art supplies being offered on a stall. “Let’s get some food before Good Hunter is swamped with people like they usually are,” you suggested, your stomach growling at the thought of Sara’s special winter dishes.
“Good idea.” He took one last longing look at the pencils he spotted, a promise that he would come back for them later, and took your hand in his own.
Once you had some warm boxes of food in your hands, the seating area had been completely filled and crowds of people looking to buy food were already spilling out around the fountain. It made it difficult to spot a path away from the front of Good Hunter, let alone move.
“I think we should head somewhere quieter,” Albedo suggested, trying to protect his food as someone knocked into his side. They were lucky they apologised straight afterwards otherwise you would have had to deal with them for nearly hurting your partner.
You chuckled nervously. “Agreed.”
The two of you wandered around until you finally came to stop on the ledge overlooking the fountain. You recognised two fatui agents usually stood here, however, tonight they were nowhere to be seen.
“I swear I didn’t plan this, but…” Albedo looked at you and then up at the street lamp beside you, “we’re under mistletoe right now.”
You nearly choked on the food that you had just swallowed. “Oh?” Shuffling closer to the alchemist and resting your food on the railing, praying it didn’t fall, you leant in towards his face. “And what are we going to do about it?”
A grin spread across your face as you watched him flush a deep red. “I-”
Before he could respond, you pressed a kiss to his lips. It was soft and gentle, just like the love that drew the two of you together. As you pulled away, you found Albedo leaning forward to try and steal another kiss from you to which you stuck out your hand, forcing him to kiss your palm instead.
“Hurry up and eat your food before it gets cold,” you laughed, picking up your own meal again. “Then, I’ll go and buy those pencils for you that you were ogling down there.”
Your partner’s eyes widened in appreciation and adoration for a moment, but then he sarcastically pouted. “I think I would prefer another kiss.”

★ Being a fatui harbinger meant that your partner wasn’t around too often as he was busy on missions for the Tsaritsa. Though, he always made sure to make time for you, no matter how much he had piled up on his plate.
★ This time, for being late to spending the holiday season with you, you decided to drag him around a winter festival that you had been wanting to go to for a while.
“Don’t look so grumpy! You’re supposed to be having fun!” You flicked Scaramouche’s nose in hopes to wipe the scowl off of his face.
“I don’t know why you waste your time with these games, they’re all rigged to make it hard to win. Why waste money on them when I could just buy you the prize?” He stuck his hands in his pockets, attempting to keep them warm. You had told him to wear something warmer before you both left the house, but he had insisted on keeping on the shorts from his fatui uniform.
“Because it’s the suffering you have to go through to get the prize that makes it all the more special!” When your partner only replied with a look of disbelief, you sighed. “Is there anything that you want to do here?”
Scaramouche shrugged. “Let’s go and get some food.”
On the walk to the stalls that were serving food, you couldn’t help but think something was troubling him. Sure, he was usually a little grumpy, but not this much.
“Hey, Scara,” you stopped in your tracks, turning around to face him, “is there something bothering you? Or anything I can do to make you happier?”
The harbinger’s eyes flicked up to something above you and then met your gaze. “I just- I feel bad that I haven’t been spending much time with you. You deserve better.” Once again, his eyes flicked up and then rested on your lips anxiously, causing curiosity to curl in your chest. Was there something else worrying him?
Looking up too, you finally found the culprit. “I swear I didn’t plan this, but we’re under mistletoe right now.”
“What? Are you going to kiss me, or something?” A small smirk turned the corner of his mouth, a piece of his normal self shining through his troubles.
“That’s what it’s there for, isn’t it?” Before he could react, you placed your hands on the sides of his face and kissed him deeply, showing him just how much you truly loved him. “I wouldn’t rather have anyone else in the world to be my lover than you, Scara. You are perfect and I enjoy every moment we get to spend together.”
Scaramouche stood frozen in place, a blush creeping over his cheeks. “I-”
“Come on.” You grabbed his hand, interlacing your fingers together. “Let’s go and get some food. I’m starving!”

XIAO
★ You had been searching for the adeptus all afternoon as you wanted to spend some time with him after a long day of commissions, but he was nowhere to be found.
★ Eventually, as the sun dipped below the horizon and cast golden hues across the landscape, you found Xiao sitting under a tree.
You couldn’t quite tell if your partner was asleep or not. His arms were folded over his chest and his eyes were closed, but you knew Xiao disliked the notion of slumber.
He cracked one of his eyes open as you approached, shuffling to the side ever so slightly to allow you to sit down next to him.
“I couldn’t find you for ages,” you huffed, grateful that your aching legs could finally get some well-deserved rest.
“I apologise. I didn’t mean to hide from you. Were you safe in your battle today?” When you nodded in reply, he hummed in relief. “Good.”
Moments like these with Xiao were what you reckoned you cherished the most in your relationship. There didn’t always need to be a conversation between you, you could just exist in comfortable silence.
★ As you watched the clouds drift by in the sky, your exhaustion caught up to you and you couldn’t help but doze off.
Xiao felt something heavy fall onto his shoulder, forcing him to reach for his mask out of sheer instinct and panic. When he turned to see it was only you who had fallen asleep on him, he could do nothing but freeze in place. What was he supposed to do? He was frightened to even breathe in case he disturbed you.
As your partner took a closer glimpse at you, Xiao felt his heart stop for a beat or two. You were stunning. The sunlight that had caught on your skin made you appear to be ethereal, and it stole his air from his lungs. However, you also appeared to look very uncomfortable.
Knowing that you would only complain about having a neck cramp later, he carefully lifted your head, turned you, and lowered you slowly so that you laid on his lap instead.
★ Until you awoke, Xiao kept watch and protected you while you had your guard down. Occasionally, he let his fingers wander to your hair to play with a few loose strands.
★ The adeptus didn’t know why you trusted him so much, how you could make yourself so vulnerable in the presence of someone such as him. But, every time he thought of that fact, it made his cheeks warm.
SCARAMOUCHE
★ All day all you had wanted to do was hug your partner, but the Balladeer had seemed more grumpy than usual. Whether it was his work or if something else was bothering him, it made you sad.
★ So, how better to cheer him up than to show him how much you loved him with the affection you were craving? It was a win-win.
You found Scaramouche at his desk in his office. His fists were clenched so tightly that you were sure he’d snap his pen in two, and half of the stack of paperwork was scrunched into balls and scattered over the floor.
“Scara,” you called, frowning. Walking over, you removed his hat from his head, placing it on a side table, hoping to relieve some of the tension in his neck and shoulders.
“What?” He snapped, not even turning to look at you.
“Maybe you should take a break? You’ve been working non-stop all day, what would half an hour do?” You crossed your arms, knowing he would do nothing but deny you. It was worth a shot anyway, right?
“And finish this half an hour later than I’m supposed to? Not a chance.”
Sighing, you pulled the chair back that he was sitting on with all the strength you could muster and sat on his lap, wrapping your legs and arms around him so he couldn’t shove you off. “Fine. Continue with your work then.” You rested your chin on his shoulder so he couldn’t see the smile that had bloomed across your lips. He was so warm.
Scaramouche growled in annoyance. He was torn between forcefully removing you and pulling you closer. “Whatever,” he muttered, resuming his reading of the document in front of him.
★ As he worked through the night, racing to get everything done and losing track of the time, your partner couldn’t help but take quick glances at you. It made his face heat up at the fact that you were so close to him.
At some point, you had fallen asleep on him, nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck. You were surprisingly comfortable, but you were also unsurprisingly such an idiot. This was no place for you to get a good rest.
Making sure you were genuinely asleep and he wouldn’t see you grinning madly at him, Scaramouche pressed a kiss to your cheek and picked you up. Praying that you wouldn’t wake, he carried you to your shared bedroom. Your partner placed you carefully in the covers, planning to return to his office, however the arms that were wrapped around his neck refused to let go.
★ Scaramouche surrendered to you, joining you and soon found himself falling asleep too. In the morning, he was grateful that those same arms were still wrapped around him.

★ The adeptus had been searching for you all over Wangshu Inn, desperately needing you to answer a question for Verr, but he couldn’t find you anywhere.
★ When he finally made his last stop at your room, he felt your presence in the bathroom and heard the water running from the shower.
Your partner flung the door open, crossing his arms in the doorway. “Y/N, are you available to help-”
“Xiao!” You instinctively threw the shampoo bottle at him, which he elegantly dodged. “What are you doing? Get out!”
His brow furrowed in confusion. Why did you just throw something at him? The two of you were in a relationship, were you not? “Why? There is an important question you need to answer.”
“Is it so important that you to stay here while I’m naked? Can’t you talk to me through the door?” The hands that you used to cover yourself adjusted to protect you better.
He rolled his eyes, sighing in the realisation of why you were acting out this way. “You mortals are strange. A naked body isn’t something I haven’t seen before, you have no need to be worried or frightened. Now, are to free to-”
“That’s not the point! It’s just that... that you,” you trailed off, not wanting to finish your sentence out of pure embarrassment.
Xiao raised a brow, a small smirk turning up the corners of his lips before vanishing again. “That I? What thoughts are running through your head?”
You felt blood rush to your face and your cheeks heat in an instant. There was no way that he could know what was actually racing through your mind, right? This was truly unlike him. There was no way that he possessed some sort of mind-reading ability. Xiao would be able to see all your thoughts, the scenario running through your head of him stripping out of his clothes and coming into the shower with you, his hands trailing to unspeakable places. You would willingly perish on the spot if that were the case.
When he received no answer, leaving you stunned on the spot, he finally got to the question he’d been meaning to ask this whole time. “Verr would like to know if you are available to help her out today at the front desk. She is short of staff and could use your assistance quite desperately.”
“Ah, of course! Does she need me this moment?”
“It was several moments ago, but yes, I’m sure the help would be appreciated at any time.”
You had to resist the urge to throw something at him again. “If you had just knocked, then I’d probably be helping her by now!”
The adeptus merely shrugged, taking one last obvious gaze at you, his eyes scanning you from head to toe, before teleporting away to leave you in peace.
KAEYA
★ The Cavalry Captain was in a rush that morning. There was a swordsmanship showcase for the new knights wanting to join, but he couldn’t for the life of him find his sword anywhere.
★ Who better was it to ask than his partner?
“Y/N?” He called out into your home, searching as he went. It wasn’t sitting on a table or leant up by the doorway. Where was it?
“Hello?” He shouted again when he didn’t receive an answer. That was weird. Usually, you would run up to him and hug him every time he entered your home. As he listened closely, he could hear the faint running of water coming from your bathroom.
Pulling the door open wide and tugging back the shower curtain, Kaeya leant against the wall. “Y/N, darling, do you happen to have seen my sword anywhere?”
“Ah! Kaeya! What in the archons are you doing here?” You yelled, almost slipping and falling in shock. Using your arms, you covered your body and pulled the shower curtain back so he couldn’t see anything.
“Well, you do leave a spare key to your house buried in the flower pot outside, and it’s not like I haven’t seen you naked before.” He pulled the curtain open once more, smirking at you. His eyes roamed your figure, savouring the sight.
“You pervert! At least turn around!” You splashed water in his face, hoping that would divert him, but he stood strong at his post.
Kaeya hummed in consideration. “I’ll think about it. Now, have you seen my sword? I had a little search while I was looking for you, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.” With every word he leant closer, giving himself a better view of you.
“Why would that be here? You could use any sword if you needed it so desperately.”
“But it’s not the same,” he whined. If only he could step into that shower with you, wrap his hands around you and act on his desires. However, then he would well and truly be late beyond compare.
“Well, it’s not here, Kaeya.”
Sighing and taking one last long gaze at you, he pressed a kiss to your lips. “You have some soap on your shoulder,” he pointed out before leaving you alone once more.
ALBEDO
★ There was a bathroom kept in the back of the laboratory that the two of you worked in just in case anyone stayed overnight (or for several days on end in your partner’s case).
★ You both had been researching your projects for days, leaving you both shattered with exhaustion. To ease your suffering and wash away the dirt you had collected throughout your time working, you had gone to take a shower. However, the alchemist didn’t see you leave your station.
Albedo could barely keep his eyes open when he finally finished the section of his experiment. He was four days into this project and he was still nowhere near finished. Stretching back in his seat, he decided to take a shower to help him relax before diving straight back in, oblivious to the sounds of running water.
Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he pushed the door open, only to jump out of his skin at the sound of you screaming.
“Ah! Albedo! What in Teyvat are you doing?” You covered your body with your arms, searching for something to throw at the poor man.
His face was crimson red as he quickly turned around, though he still managed to get a good enough glance at your naked body. “I-I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise anyone was in here.”
The alchemist wanted to join you in there, just to wash and lower his downtime so he could get back to his experiment quicker. But if he did, would he even be able to keep his hands to himself? Or would his instincts and desires take over him?
The sigh you released was full of relief and a little nervousness. You had only reacted that way because you didn’t know who had barged in. Now that you knew it was your partner, you supposed it was a waste if you didn’t have a little fun.
“It’s okay. Someone coming in here was just a bit of a shock, that’s all.”
Albedo’s shoulders relaxed a little but the heat didn’t leave his cheeks. “Still, I shouldn’t have come in without checking that anyone was taking a shower first. I will leave now to give you some peace.”
“Do you want to join me in here?” You purred, letting your hands loosen from where they covered your body, giving him a little bit more of a view as he turned back around for a split second.
Your partner staggered on the edge of staying conscious and passing out from how flustered he was. “I don’t know if I could. If I should.” Archons, if he set one foot in that shower with you, he wouldn’t leave for hours.
You were glad he still had his back turned so he couldn’t see your smirk. He was so easy to rile up that it was adorable. “It’s your loss.”
Albedo ran a hand over his face. “When we finish this project and get back home, I’ll join you in a shower then.” With that, he charged back out the room, causing you to chuckle. If he stayed any longer, who knew what he would have done.

DILUC
★ The arrival of the winter season had you unbearably excited, especially as the first few flakes of snow drifted down from the sky. It made you so eager that it woke you up extra early that day, sleep abandoning you completely.
★ But who were you to complain? That allowed you to spend more time with your partner, who had gone outside to oversee orders of Dandelion Wine, and enjoy the fresh snow being laid out before you.
“Diluc!” You rushed over to where he was double-checking a cart full of crates being prepared to be sent out to Liyue in time for their upcoming Lantern Rite. As he was busy, you patiently waited by his side until he could give you his undivided attention.
“You’re up early, my love,” he greeted, pulling you in for your morning hug and kiss.
“It’s snowing! Have you noticed?” You grinned, almost wanting to jump up and down with your excitement.
“I have indeed,” Diluc sighed. It was definitely a nuisance more than a special event to him. Just as he was about to ask you what your plans were for the rest of the day, he caught you shivering from the cold.
His instincts told him to remove his coat and place it on your shoulders, but you already had a thick coat and, from what he could tell, a warm jumper on too. There wouldn’t be any use in just adding another layer on when the several you had on already weren’t doing much. Instead, he removed his glove and stretched out his hand towards you.
“Hold my hand. I don’t want you to freeze.” Your partner turned away as he spoke, hoping to hide the faint blush appearing on his cheeks. What use was he if he didn’t utilise his pyro vision?
If it was possible for your smile to grow, it did ten folds, making Diluc’s heart flutter in his chest. “Thank you!” You linked your arm with his and intertwined your fingers, meaning that it would be tough for either of you to pull away from each other quickly.
His hands were rough and calloused, but you still loved them nonetheless. Even by simply holding hands, the warmth that travelled across your body made you feel as though you were sitting next to an open, blazing fire. Who needed a normal hand warmer when you had a living, breathing, and very attractive one instead?
★ For the rest of the morning, you followed Diluc around, refusing to let go of his hand. You watched as the owner of the Dawn Winery completed his morning checks and even occasionally helped him out.
★ When you had to part ways as your partner had to travel into Mondstadt, you knew that snow and a cold morning would no longer be your favourite thing about winter, it would be absorbing warmth off of Diluc.
ALBEDO
★ Despite all of his protests, you had finally managed to invite yourself to one of your partner’s trips to Dragonspine. He kept insisting that it would be too cold for you and not entirely pleasant as you would get bored easily, but the thought of being able to spend time with him trumped all of those drawbacks.
★ Little did you know how cold it would actually be.
You watched as Albedo sat at his desk, a pencil in his hand and his sketchbook in front of him. It was difficult not to admire his concentration as he drew. Unlike when he was working on his experiments and theories, there was a pure calm in his expression. You wanted to capture it somehow so you could play this moment over and over again.
A shiver running through your body jolted you out of your thoughts, making you realise just how cold it was as the sun dipped below the horizon. Your partner had been right, he always had been. Rubbing your hands together and blowing warm air on them, you inched closer to the fire before you, holding out your palms so the flames could heat them too.
“Are you cold, Y/N?” Albedo’s voice had you jumping back from the heat and crossing your arms over your chest.
“I have no idea what you’re on about. I told you I would withstand the cold, and I can.” The two of you had only spent a couple of days together, so you couldn’t be sent home by your caring and doting lover yet. You had planned to spend a few weeks up in the mountains.
He sighed and shook his head, a small smile finding its way to his lips. “Come over here.” His hand motioned you over as he shuffled up on the bench he sat on, making room for you.
As soon as you sat beside him, you could feel the heat radiating off of Albedo, forcing you to resist the urge to selfishly lean into him so you could have some of it too. “How are you so warm?”
Albedo shrugged. “I suppose I’ve become used to the cold.” He adjusted the angle of his sketchbook so he could comfortably continue, and held out his free hand for you to take. “Hold my hand. I don’t want you to freeze.”
Without thought, you interlaced your fingers with his, feeling heat rising to your cheeks. “Thank you.”
After nodding his head once, the alchemist got back to work, beginning to carefully shade the top of his current piece. Being so close to him allowed you to see what he was drawing.
“Bedo? Is that me you’re sketching?”
This time, it was your partner’s turn to blush. “I- I mean- Yes, it is.”

CHILDE / TARTAGLIA
★ Your partner went out for drinks with some of his coworkers to celebrate their success on their latest mission. He’d warned you about this, mentioning that he could come home a little drunk.
★ You’d asked him how he was when he drank, but the harbinger merely shrugged and told you that he wasn’t too bad.
★ When he arrived home, he wasn’t acting quite how you expected.
A thud by your front door had you jolting out of bed and rushing to see what the commotion was, relief washing over you when you saw Childe leaning against the wall trying not to fall off balance. Of course, he was drunk.
You walked up to him and slung his arm around your shoulders, leading him to the kitchen where he could sit down. “Welcome home. Did you have a good time?” As much as you loved the muscle that he had, it made it a struggle to help him walk.
“Y/N!” He stopped the two of you from walking as he wrapped his arms around your waist. You could smell the reek of alcohol on his breath as his lips began to devour your neck, his hands exploring the back of your body.
“Woah, somebody missed me,” you chuckled, still trying to push him into the kitchen. He needed at least some water before you attempted to get him to sleep.
Childe whined as you ignored his advances, pushing you against the wall and claiming your mouth as his own. He pressed his body closer to yours, trying to feel as much of you as he could.
You broke free from the kiss and held his chin so he would get your message. “Not right now, you need to have some water and maybe something to eat so you don’t feel as bad tomorrow morning.”
He wriggled free from your grasp and leant his chin on your shoulder, sighing in annoyance against your ear. “But I need you so badly. Y/N, please.”
You shook your head in dismay. “Try again when you’re sober in the morning.”
★ Eventually, you managed to get him to calm down and take care of himself before heading off to bed where he snuggled himself close to you, whispering things into your ear that sent shivers down your spine.
“You better believe I’m taking up that offer for tomorrow morning.”
XIAO
★ The adeptus went out for drinks with Zhongli as they hadn’t seen each other in a long while, also picking up his pain medication from him at the same time.
★ Your partner couldn’t remember the last time he was drunk, worrying him a little, which was why you were staying up to help assist him when he returned to Wangshu Inn if need be.
★ He would scold you for staying awake when you needed your mortal rest, but if it meant making him feel safer, you would do it without a thought in a heartbeat.
A figure appeared on the balcony beside you, his arms crossed. “What are you still doing up?” There was no obvious difference to his appearance, but if you looked closely enough, you could notice how Xiao swayed a little on his feet.
“I wanted to see if you needed any help when you came home. How was it? Was it nice seeing Zhongli again?” You knew he probably didn’t need any help, he was centuries old and likely able to handle his liquor. A feeling of embarrassment washed over you. It was the thought that counted, right?
“I don’t need any help.” Your partner’s expression turned into a scowl. “It was alright, some of the other adepti were there too.”
You smiled. “That’s nice.” It wasn’t often he caught up with his old friends.
Xiao walked towards you, slipping a hand behind your waist to hide the fact that he stumbled a little on his feet. His eyes widened in shock. He never tripped over. Your partner was always fully aware of his surroundings. All he had wanted to do was feel your warmth, there was a strange urge in his mind for him to just go up and touch you. He needed to bask in your presence.
“Are you okay there?” You asked, noticing his little trip. Your hand instinctively steadying him.
He ran his hand over his face to regain his composure and then nodded. “Yes. It’s time for you to get some sleep.”
It was strange how the adeptus didn’t let go of you as he led you to your shared bedroom. Normally, he preferred to keep physical contact to a minimum as he showed his affection in other ways. So, it was even stranger when he joined you inside the covers, holding you tight and burying his head into your hair.
“Are you sure you’re okay, Xiao?” As you turned up to look at him, you saw a faint blush dusting his cheeks.
He nodded, nuzzling into you further. “I just need to hold you, let me protect you.”
★ When you woke up the next morning, he still held you tight, refusing to let go.
ALBEDO
★ The Chief Alchemist had gone out for drinks at Angel’s Share with some fellow knights to celebrate his latest experiment going so well. He had been holed up in his lab and up at Dragonspine for so long that you were glad he was getting out and doing something else.
★ Albedo wasn’t much of a drinker, only having the odd cup at special events, so you had never seen him completely drunk before.
The night was still young when your partner returned home from his trip to Angel’s Share. You were just getting changed to go to sleep when you heard your front door open and Albedo slump into a seat, resting his head on the countertop.
“Bedo?” You called, peering your head into the kitchen. “Ah, you’re home. How was it?”
“Good.” His voice was shaky and he didn’t raise his head up to look at you. “ A little hectic, but I enjoyed it very much.”
A sympathetic smile made its way onto your lips as you headed over to get a glass of water for your partner. His hard work was finally paying off.
As he rested his head on his hand, he watched you through glazed eyes. “Thank you,” he murmured as you passed him the water.
Just as you were about to prepare him something light to eat so he would feel slightly better, a small sob escaped from Albedo’s mouth that he tried to cover up with a cough. He turned away from you, swirling the glass to distract him.
“Hey,” you stopped what you were doing and pulled a seat up next to him, “what’s the matter?” When you rubbed circles comfortingly on his back, he began to break down.
Panic filled you as he placed the water on the counter and rested his head on your shoulder, soaking your shirt. You pulled him into a tight hug, running through your mind of what could have made him upset. The conclusion you made was that something had to have happened at Angel’s Share, you would ruin anyone’s life on sight if they had harmed your partner.
“I-” Albedo started, cut off by his own tears. “I just love you so much.”
You chuckled, lifting his face and pressing a kiss to his forehead. You’d completely forgotten he was drunk the second he started crying. “I love you too.”
