LoA is such an odd situation of Schrödinger’s fandom because on the one hand they are an objectively veryyyy successful group to the point of being pretty much part of the mainstream cultural zeitgeist for dnd. They have over 2.7 million subscribers on their channel with over 3 billion views. They just raised 16 million dollars for their neon odyssey kickstarter! I mean like *gestures at the neon odyssey music video and the entire crooked moon album featuring the vocal talent of RAMIN KARMILOO*

And yet!

It feels like the fandom is so nice and niche and cozy, especially for anything separate from their TikToks. I’ve been scouring the internet for stuff surrounding Marius from EoM because I’m…Normal about him. And it’s genuinely a bit of a struggle. That’s not to say their campaigns are unpopular it’s just a bit of fresh air compared to the constant pressure cooker of my past fandom. I like it here yall are chill :D

I was NOT aware how many people liked my Spinel i'm SHOCKED. Here's some neat facts about her under the cut for yall :)

Spinel's form was customized! After being found by Blue, she was taken to the Reef to fix her look. She couldn't have a ragged depressed Gem cheer up a traumatized prince. She wasn't fond of her look at first, but it eventually grew on her!

Spinel's 'obsessive' tendencies didn't quite leave her. In fact, they're all the same, if not worse for quite awhile after she and Steven meet. She was unbearably clingy for weeks after leaving the Garden, even following Steven to his 'Beach House' meant for only him. He couldn't stop her, she'd drag herself along if it meant she didn't have to let him go. She eventually grows out of it once Connie arrives.

She and Connie are REALLY close! Both worry about Steven to the max and try to find ways to keep him happy. She's also very close to Jasper and Pine, constantly disrupting their work to play with them. Pine finds it endearing and sweet. Jasper wants to and has strangled her.

Lastly, she's the first to move on from Steven. The first in the epilogue to go to Little Homeworld to find herself, soon inviting Pine and Jasper to come along. Jasper is the last to leave, but is eventually convinced. She still visits Steven and they get up to all kinds of mischief. They're truly best friends, and even better siblings

imagine; you're laying quietly in bed at night. Scrolling on your phone, or reading, or drawing. The window is open to cool off your room after a warm summer day, when you feel a weight settle beside you in bed, and you look over to see your f/o staring oh so lovingly at you. They give you a soft kiss on the head and whisper, "Its getting late, let's get some sleep" you hesitate not feeling tired quite yet, but they compromise. Put away your things. Turn of the lights. Settle in with your head on their chest, and softly talk to you about their day, running their hands softly through your hair, cooing gently as your eyes start to droop, and before you know it, the calming presence and soothing sound of their voice have you falling asleep in their arms. Tomorrow you may have work, or school, or even a day to yourselves. But right now that doesnt matter. Right now you're warm, and safe, in the arms of the person who loves you most <3

Wait hang on, I just realized TMA is horror because you, the listener, are part of Beholding. You are the being beyond. You're literally part of the story because they all feel watched and listened, and you're the one doing the listening.

*grips your shoulders* an eight year old is not gonna act like that. put the pen down. close the laptop. stop writing for a minute. volunteer at a daycare center for a week or smth. an eight year old is typically (unless they're purposely doing it, but at that point you'll be able to tell) not going to speak in one word sentences. that is a child with a possible developmental delay and should probably get an assessment done. that is a two year old with an MLU score of 2.0 who is struggling with their present possessive verbs. look up the average heights of an eight year old because i promise they're bigger than that.

if your six year old is still doing reduplicated babbling and it's not clearly an on purpose active play decision, then they should probably (re: REALLY) undergo evaluation because one of the first signs of a developmental delay is delayed speech. children begin speaking in two word utterances as young as 18 months old. three year olds on average can hold simple conversations with adults. four year olds absoLUTELy can.

i know it's super fun to write children as being dependent and clingy to their parent for your super fluffy found family child fic but that is not a six year old that is a worryingly large two year old with a mild speech delay. you don't have to be 1:1 accurate, god knows i'm not but please at least know that children on average are capable of holding simple conversations by the time they're 4, and are usually doing the baby talk stuff to be cute or as a play thing. which isn't a bad thing but if they're talking like that unironically and ALL the time, then there is likely a problem in their development.

i think the funniest thing about finding rk1k art from 2018 is that the general tone is like "does anyone ship these two???? do they have a ship name???" and it'll be tagged with like marnor or conkus or some other combination of their names. and sometimes they'll also be like "i think some people are calling them rk1000???"

and i just love how it eventually became just rk1k

short and sweet and just a lovely little ship name. and whoever initially proposed it deserves some sort of reward.

Already have basic idea for outfits, but I am being deeply pulled by my brainworms to give them eyes like Tik-Tok (From Return to Oz)

Cause like- his eyes are so pretty and he's one of my favorite robot characters-

But I also have exactly 0 logical reason for it and I kinda doubt I could render that properly XDD

(Also this picture doesn't exactly show what I'm meaning cause his don't look quite as sparkly- but there's also only like 10-15 images of him online)

Maybe I'll do some test doodles to explore the idea 🫠
