cw★ fem!reader x naoya, soft, needy, puppy, yousexual, naoya cause we all bob the builders trust twin, also no smut!
extra notes★ pls don't mind the errors i wrote this when i was half asleep and going mad over naoya's forehead reveal💔
your soft hand in his rough ones, walking through the courtyard behind the zenin clan. it was normal day, you kept squeezing his hands after every round, as if counting.
but of course, naoya had to interrupt your quiet walking session by saying something.
"i was planning something for our one year anniversary..."
"you? planning something? i mean, it's always a bouquet or something, so i'm not really curious..." you sigh, flashing back to the times when y'all were dating and he never thought deep for gifts, he just gave things he thought a woman would typically like.
"no, no. i promise it's something different this time." he cuts in, stopping and standing in front of you.
you looked up at him, 'something different?' you thought, he had never actually done something different. maybe a few flower changes in the bouquet but nothing more. you tilt your head, crossing your hands over your chest, waiting for him to continue.
"it's a surprise though..." he whispers dramatically, "or maybe not, should i reveal it?" he asks excitedly.
"okay okay, i want to know what's got you so worked up." you giggle.
"i'm planning we adopt a golden retriever."
"WHAT!?" you almost yell, him shutting you up by pressing his palm on your mouth as he drags you to a corner behind a taller bush in the yard.
"sorry i forgot we were still at the clan," you look down embarassingly, "but still, you really mean a real dog? like a real golden retriever? are you serious naoya?" you look up, asking repeatedly like a kid who's getting their first pet.
"mhm baby, that's right." he nods, smiling proudly.
"how did you know that i wanted a dog? i never said it, did i?" saying this, you think to yourself, you had always been a non-verbal and an introverted person, preferring not to speak about stuff you like out loud.
"you didn't. but your actions did. you really thought i wasn't paying attention huh?" he asks, running a hand through the top of his hair, revealing his forehead. he seemed so utterly pleased with himself that he had successfully made you happy.
"oh my. this is actually crazy." you gasp, also blushing slightly because of naoya's stupid proud behaviour.
"we're gonna create a family you like." he shrugs effortlessly, trying to act all nonchalant after literally digging up such information about you from who knows where.
you jokingly hit his shoulder, "yeah yeah okay, sweet enough, good job." you nod, patting his head affectionately.
"thanks master." he smirks.
"shut up." you roll your eyes, slapping him softly.
"shit, anything for you." he chuckles before leaning in for a kiss.
you give in without a second thought, because fuck naoya had actually started putting in thought for once in gifts. it felt special because he was an inexperienced man who had never acted like so sweet with a woman, you were the first and last woman he fell in love with.
he kept annoyingly smiling between kisses, his hands massaging your waist as he wraps his arms around you tighter, in response your hands also start pulling him closer by his neck, slowly caressing his face. after a while, you both could feel each other's faces heating up when y'all pulled away to breathe.
finally when y'all were done kissing which felt like an eternity, you leaned in,
"i'll name the retriever after you."
"why? am i not enough as your dog that you need more like me?
"you're so stupid, you know that?"
you sigh jokingly, flicking his forehead as he pulls you closer to him, trying to have no distance between y'all.
a/n★ this is so short wtf was i thinking when i wrote this😭💔 but also chat trust naoya is the sweetest golden retriever guy ever trust me no clickbait🤑🥸💢💥😍😛😘
btw i have also been working on a smut version of a naoya drabble since his debut, idk when it's gonna be fully written though🧍♀️

if y'all can, pls support this fic entry for caleb's birthday contest on twt too! here's the link!:
The balmy days of late summer restored a euphoric ambience around you. The cozy feeling at home was like the fresh envelope of wind you’d feel in lively grasslands. But you weren’t relaxing—you’d been wanting to clean up the house. Oddly enough, it didn’t feel tiring. It felt enjoyable. Because Caleb was with you.
After finishing, both of you changed into homey outfits. You’d been a bit more silent than usual.
“What’s been on your mind, pipsqueak? You kept zoning out,” Caleb asked, settling beside you on the sofa, a towel over his shoulders, his hair still slightly damp.
“I’ve been thinking I want to do something more. I don’t want to just laze around, but I also don’t want anything too draining. And we haven’t done anything fun together like we used to. Maybe today we can!”
Caleb listened closely. After a moment, he rested his chin on his hand, thinking.
“Hmm… not too boring, not too wild… how about—journaling? With the photos we found today,” he suggested.
“That sounds so fun! Didn’t know this dummy could come up with such ideas…” you grinned.
“That’s ‘cause I’m your dummy.” He shrugged, standing up.
“Good that we cleaned today,” you mumbled, retrieving a box of journaling items from beneath the ottoman. While tidying, you’d found a stash of unused stationery in one of the cupboards—probably bought for your daily planner but never used. There was also a spare, blank notebook. It smelled faintly of brittle paper and aging glue, seasoned with stillness. Caleb brought the pictures—some sepia-toned, curled at the edges, timeless in their wear.
You both settled on the carpeted floor in front of the sofa. Handing Caleb the notebook, you told him to go first. He placed it on his lap and started writing. Curious, you scooted closer and read aloud:
‘In another universe, we grew up hand-in-hand, happy under Grandma Josephine’s care, you teasing me beneath floating skies and nothing bad ever happened to us.’
“Okay, angsty lover boy. That was a foul start,” you said, folding your arms and squinting.
“But I’m still glad you’re here with me right now,” he beamed, tilting his head.
You whispered a soft “Me too.” Caleb then pasted a photo of you both—where you were grinning at the camera and he was looking at you—above his words, adding brownish tape to the edges. He handed the notebook to you.
“Your turn, pipsqueak.”
“Since you decided to be angsty, I’ll do the same,” you said, starting to write on the other page:
‘In another universe, our eyes meet across a bar, we cross paths in a crowd, collide in a quiet aisle. No matter the world, we always find each other.’
“This isn’t as angsty as yours…but it sounds like a promise,” you murmured. It felt sacred and soft—like you and Caleb were destined to meet in every lifetime.
Caleb noticed your quiet gaze on your own words.
“Oh, we will. And if we don’t, I’ll personally tweak the universe to bring us together,” he said, loyalty dripping from his voice.
“So dramatic.” You laughed under your breath, but the warmth in your chest lingered. You leaned your head on his shoulder, the notebook resting between you both—pages still open, as if waiting for the next universe to be written.
