After everything that had gone on with Garlean Empire, Meiko had felt her stomach sink at the rumors of another mysterious magitek machine accompanying an equally mysterious man in black.

"Not fuckin' the day," she muttered as she made her way out into Thanalan. Despite the potential danger of yet another Asican making trouble, however, she hadn't reached for her Linkpearl to alert the others. Not even her brother. She would, of course, if the rumors proved true...but people were sometimes blind. Or paranoid. Or stupid (herself included). And if it truly were a threat worth investigating, someone would've come running into town screaming already. So, hopefully...

...

Huh.

It wasn't all that hard to spot the strange magitek vehicle from a distance, but she nearly missed the lad curled up in front of it looking like how she oft did after too many firewaters. Perhaps that was why she didn't draw her weapons as she approached, albeit cautiously.

"Y...You all right, lad?"

Space Mountain-

I ran to the mountains to find my place

Took some magic mushrooms so i could see space

Euphoria floated me on a bed of golden grace

Leting go of control is what i did embrace

A glowing tree stands out in the dark

The dance of the fire, the pop of its spark

Down the hatch of adventure like alice embarked

"Dont seek the answers but the questions to remark"

This dream like perception of vivid colored flowers

Search for the phlisophers stone took me hours

As the buzzing life of day turned to the stillness of night

I was greeted by the most breath taking sight

A vast black ocean of cloudless twinkling stars

Once the clock chimed 2 A.M., a sigh of exhaustion slipped from Alexis’ lips. She usually handled her night shifts in the sleep laboratory quite well, but this time was different: There were no patients to keep company, no measurements to oversee. In fact, whereas she was indeed pulling an all-nighter, she wasn’t even in the sleep lab. 

Between all her university related assignments and working two jobs, Alexis hadn’t been able to finalize all the paperwork at the neuropsychological clinic. And so here she was, seated in front of her assigned computer, typing away idly at the keyboard. While her right hand was occupied with neglected patient documentation, her left hand cupped a cheesy mug that read ‘Tears of my Psychology Students’, filled almost to the brim with black coffee. As a matter of fact, she was one of these students, but instead of tears, all she could produce were yawns of fatigue.

Next to the computer on her desk, Alexis had placed but her wallet, her keys and her phone. One room away was the locked medical cabinet, containing all of the prescription medication that the clinic kept stored safely behind sealed doors. But she wasn’t even thinking about that— no patient, no medication needed, right?

Out of the blue, Alexis — mind you, all alone in the clinic — heard the ear-piericing sound of shattering glass. She jumped from her chair, her instincts screaming at her that something was wrong. However, out of fear of overreacting to a situation that could well be no big deal, she didn’t call 911 right away. Instead, she clutched her phone in one hand, ready to dial, and her keys in the other, as though she could use them as some sort of make shift weapon in the unlikely event of an actual emergency.

Pool of Trouble

Had Apollo gotten to work with Mr. Wright since he got his badge back? He was pretty sure the answer was ‘no.’ He certainly wasn’t complaining. It’d be a good opportunity for him to learn first hand what the Phoenix Wright he looked up to as a kid was like. Or at the very least, it’d be a glimpse of the past.

Of course, lucky him, this case would be a midnight drowning of sorts. Two teenagers breaking into the local public pool, and only one leaving with cuts and bruises. Both teens’ blood was found in the crime scene, namely on the diving boards, and the victim, Dave E. Jones’s body, was fished from the bottom this morning. 

Most of the investigation took them close to the deeper pool, the one used for diving. Please don’t let them have to investigate the high diving board! Still, there wasn’t a whole lot of evidence to be found, aside from various bloodstains that suggested an altercation. Though, Apollo thought he noticed something near the bottom of the pool...it was so far down, it was hard to tell what it could have been from 12 ft above it. It may have just been a stain, but it could have also been something belonging to the victim. Apollo leaned closer to the edge, being very careful not to lose his balance, but the item was still too far away for him to identify.  “Mr. Wright, you see that splotch down there?”

   Any amount of trust they shared was gone after that high end had been released into the city, that’s when he started taking everything Dabi had to say with a grain of salt. Granted, he had been doing so from the start but out of everyone the league had he was by far the hardest to get a read on, he never knew what the pyromaniac had been thinking and that's what made him the most dangerous. But for now he would be good and go along with whatever he had to do to grain their trust, because that’s just what the commission wanted.

   So when Dabi had requested his audience he was already on the edge, but without a word of complaint he walked along the hall of the liberation front before he saw just the man he had been looking for. Whatever he wanted he had a feeling it wasn’t gonna be something he would like. Unless it was talking, he could do with just a conversation for once.

“Just ignore these losers. They’re girl-obsessed.” And now that this quiet girl had spoken up in the presence of Kaminari, he was probably going to annoy her into going on a date with him. He was predictable like that. “We have way more important things to be thinking about at this age and love,” He nearly spat the word, but held back. “Ain’t one of ‘em.”

   Sakura’s attention shifted to the spikiest-hair guy as he talked, and she stared -- mostly emptily. He was a little more worked up about this than her. Hm. So she was right -- they really were too focused on dating... “Like eating rice,” came the agreement; very serious.

      RIGHT NOW. she was wanting to be anywhere. but there. but yet here she was. sitting inside of the local watering hole having a drink. it wasn’t something that she often did, nor did she like doing but after hearing what Alexander did? Well, drinking was better than killing him and that was something she wanted to do. But she couldn’t. Looking down at the glass in her hands, Eliza swirled the contents, she wasn’t drunk however, as she knew that’d certainly be very unlady like of her, and that’s something she was not. Hearing a voice, Eliza looked up and spotted someone familiar talking to her “HEY LAF.”
