{CLOSED} Departure

As soon as he heard the shower water running, he began to ransack her apartment. He knew Jane would be displeased, but he wanted to be sure that the stone was gone.

Teleporting two people to another realm was going to be a big challenge for Loki. Over time he had been perfecting it on himself--the idea of bending two points in space together, in order to walk between them. Making it function between realms was much more taxing. He had only accomplished it a few times. He would much rather cut her out of his life completely, but until he figured out a way to operate the infinity gem without her--he was stuck with the woman.

He growled in frustration as he turned up no results in his search. He figured it would not have been so easy. He left her home and paced the yard, impatient for Jane to be ready.

"Are you awake yet? It's been ten hours. This is getting ridiculous. Mortals should be banned from alcohol consumption!"

{CLOSED} The Aether

Loki grabbed the stone out of his pocket, letting it rest in his hands. He knew they had to try again, but the last time still weighed heavily on his mind. If the artifact was that sensitive it could easily malfunction, but they did not have much of a choice.

"Remember, whatever you do, do not let the Aether merge with you."

"Should I be surprised that a woman is taking forever to get ready? I thought you to be more practical than that. Are you almost done in there?"

{CLOSED} A Little Mischief

Jane was in rare form today; he would admit that much. Loki did not really care if he stayed in her place while she got ready. He merely refused to let her win the argument. He had seen her struggle to gain power over him, and he would not have that. Leaving her home, he paced the street to get some fresh air.

They needed to make progress with the stone today. He had to keep her focused and on task. If they were able to learn to control it, he could make the changes he wanted. The possibilities were endless.

After a long walk, he returned to her residence. Stepping inside, he heard the shower still running. A mischievious grin crossed his features. What was life without a little fun? He knew she would be livid, but it would be worth it. 

He decided to conjure one of his doubles inside of her bathroom, but outside of her vision. She would see it when she opened the shower curtain. He did not plan to embody his double, just to frighten her. Although he would not mind getting a look at Thor's woman, just to hold it over his brother. With a gesture of his hand, a second Loki took its place near Jane. Now, he waited.

{CLOSED} Displaced

Loki was pleased that he finally convinced Jane to experiment with the stone again. He had to use much more emotional blackmail on the woman than he had anticipated. Needing to weave an entire false story about the artifact's origin and purpose was a simple second nature to him.

"Just remember what I told you. Hold tightly to a time or memory and let it anchor you. The magic should react to your touch."

As he gave her directions, he mused on the most recent events. Having possession of another infinity gem excited his lust for power. The Tesseract had left him broken and addled, but he knew the risks were worth it this time. If he could get this one to work, in theory, he could possess the power to travel through time and space in order to alter the events of his choosing. There was so much he wanted to change.

He wished the gem had chosen him, but for some reason it was drawn to Jane. He still did not know why that happened. He had a feeling it would be the case after the incident with the Aether, which is why he sought her out. The stones were sentient, and it chose who could control it. Apparently this one did not like him very much.

"Just do your best," he stated, handing her the stone.

Tony was walking down a hall with Agent Coulson in the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, discussing the mission he was supposed to leave the next day and he felt a million eyes follow his every step. He looked up from his mission file and watched as everyone looked awat and started walking faster. "I'll see you around." He murmured to Coulson, started walking towards a meeting room. He needed to be alone and think. All those agents' eyes and thoughts around him didn't help at all. It was like he could feel and hear everything. When he entered the meeting room, he didn't even notice it wasn't empty. He dropped the file on the table and lifted his gaze a bit and saw her. Talked out the first thing came to his mind; "I know you." Pointing at her.

{CLOSED} The Return

His focus sharpened as he leaned over the cramped lab’s only flat surface. The artifact he held was different than he had expected. Tracing a finger over its etched design, he angled it towards the light. It glowed soft orange but did not exhibit any special response to his touch. Spinning it beneath his vision, he attempted to ascertain the cause of the item's disappointing performance. 

"Why won't you work!" Loki growled, smashing his fist into the table hard enough to dent it.

His frustration already boiling over, he was interrupted by the door behind him sliding open. He quickly pocketed the stone and turned to assess his new guest. "You're late," he admonished, clearly in a foul mood.
