The First Kick- Obi Wan Kenobi.
It was a quiet evening on the planet of Alderaan. The twin suns had just begun to dip beneath the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the landscape. Inside the modest, but cozy home that you and Obi-Wan had made for yourselves, the soft hum of the day winding down filled the air. The two of you had been spending more time together lately, a rare gift in these tumultuous times. Obi-Wan was often away, but now, in the safety of your home, he was by your side.
You sat on the edge of the couch, your hand resting on your rounded belly, a quiet smile on your lips. Obi-Wan, always the protective figure, had insisted on making sure you were comfortable as the months passed. It wasn't easy being pregnant in these times, but with Obi-Wan's love and care, you managed.
Obi-Wan was reading something from his datapad, his brow furrowed in concentration, but you could tell his attention was half on you. He had always been like that—quiet, focused, yet present in the moment when you needed him most. Tonight, he was the embodiment of calm.
Suddenly, you felt it—an unexpected movement from within. At first, it was subtle, just a light flutter, like a gentle breeze brushing against the inside of your stomach. You blinked in surprise, wondering if you had imagined it. But then, there it was again—a little stronger, more insistent.
Your hand instinctively pressed against your belly, a soft gasp escaping your lips. Obi-Wan, sensing the change in your demeanor, immediately looked up from his datapad.
"Everything alright?" His voice was gentle, concerned.
"I think... I think the baby just kicked," you said, your voice tinged with awe. "For the first time."
Obi-Wan's eyes softened, and he set the datapad aside, his full attention now on you. His hands moved to gently rest on your belly, as if instinctively sharing the moment with you.
"Really?" His voice was almost a whisper, full of wonder. He leaned closer, his expression softened by the profound realization of what was happening. "I would be honored to feel it."
You smiled, a soft laugh escaping your lips as you nodded. "Come here. Right here," you guided him, placing his hand over the spot where you had felt the kick.
For a moment, there was silence, only the soft rustling of the wind outside and the faint hum of the home around you. Then, it happened again. A soft thud against your skin, a clear, unmistakable sign of life. You looked up at Obi-Wan, his eyes wide with a mix of amazement and tenderness.
"I felt it," Obi-Wan said softly, his voice thick with emotion. "It's... it's real."
The weight of the moment settled between the two of you, and for a brief instant, the galaxy, with all its chaos and uncertainty, seemed so far away. It was just you, Obi-Wan, and the tiny life growing inside you.
"You know," Obi-Wan continued, a small, warm smile tugging at his lips, "I have a feeling this child is going to be strong. Much like their mother." His gaze met yours, and you could see the love in his eyes, the pride that filled him. "And like their father," he added, his voice soft but certain.
You smiled at him, reaching up to gently cup his face with your hand. "I think they will be, too. With you by their side."
Obi-Wan's hand remained on your belly, his thumb lightly stroking the skin. His expression was tender, full of quiet joy and the deep love he had for you both. The world outside might be filled with uncertainty, but here, in this moment, there was only peace.
"I can't wait to meet them," Obi-Wan whispered, his voice low and full of emotion.
You nodded, resting your head on his shoulder. "Neither can I."
As the sun finally set, the stars began to twinkle in the sky above. In that small, peaceful home, in that quiet moment, the future felt full of promise. And for the first time, you truly felt the presence of the little life inside you—the first kick, the first sign of the future you would share together.
Obi-Wan held you close, his hand still gently resting on your belly, and for that brief, perfect moment, the galaxy seemed to hold its breath as you both waited for the next chapter to unfold.
Bro the prequel trilogy of Star Wars IS silly/boring/nerdy just like they say HOWEVER !! Do NOT downplay its magnitude as a tragedy!! I literally just cried like four times watching The Phantom Menace bro like.
You know that picture of young anakin casting a shadow in the shape of Darth Vader? That picture LITERALLY sums up the devastating reality of it ALL.
I dint even know what else to say, just cry with me pls 😭😭😭
