I Capture the Castle has one of my favourite opening lines in literature. What are some of your favourite first lines?
Prompt Lines- Slash
I have a Spirk, Spones, McKirk or McSpirk TOS or AOS challenge with lines to include/start with/be inspired by.
“Sweet Jesus! Give me some more of that, darlin’.”
“How can I help you, sweetheart? Just let me know.”
“God, you’re Beautiful, and, my usual sarcasm aside, you need to know that.”
“I’ll take it easy, I promise you that.”
“It’s just you and me here. So, let’s make good things happen for you, shall we, baby? They’ll be good for both of us; let me assure you…”
“I’m with you. I won’t let you go until you want me to.”
“Yes, absolutely, I will marry you.”
“Will you marry me, Spock?” (or Jim – depending on the pairing chosen!)
“I won’t make you feel wrong or stupid or bad.”
“You’ve never really been allowed love; let me love you, please?”

What Sierra wouldn't give for a decent jacket. Or even just, y'know, actual long sleeves.
She bites down to try and keep her teeth from chattering, and hunches her shoulders a bit further. If she closes her eyes for even an instant, it feels like they're going to freeze shut. Her phone fell into a snowdrift earlier, and gained a lovely layer of ice across the touchscreen surface, so even if the girl could get a signal out in the middle of nowhere, she can't exact call or send a text message.
It's... it's not looking great, but she hasn't given up yet. She can't.
Running has taught me, perhaps more than anything else, that there's no reason to fear starting lines or other new beginnings.
