Take the mystery out of cylinder marking... Regardless to how many needle slots your cylinder has, in order to make a sock, it’s a worlds easier if your cylinder is marked - marking shows front/back half of the cylinder, 9, 12, 3 and 6 o’clock marks and includes the average targets for heels/toes etc. But how? Well one first needs to address how one sits in front of the machine and from there plan marking the 6 o’clock position (and thereafter 9, 12 and 3). These clock points are standard with each specific cylinder The cylinder is then also marked for heel and toe workings usually using thirds on the half of the machine you plan to do heels and toes. Don’t worry it makes more sense the more you let it sink in.
