“Bookie, nabab, polite capo mafioso, presbyterian minister, lethal weapon, cold-blooded reptile, creepy lover, deep year-round tan”. Orson Krennic is all of these in noirFic Candyleg by @5-cents !
This is based off my husband and I’s characters in Star-Wars the old republic. It’s an MMO placed in the Star wars universe. A long time before the events in the movies. There’s a glitch where after you enter a bit of dialog, with a friend, your friend is standing right where you are. given the height differences of our characters, it constantly looks like his character just snuggled her into his robes. So have some fluff.
Bad day. VERY bad day. Reyelri’s cover was very blown. the imperial agent scrambled out of the way from another volley of shots. Ducking up from her cover to return three more shots.
She his two of them, missed the other. Only... Now things were getting scary. Now they had reinforcements in the form of battle droids. “Damnit” She hissed. This was looking grim to say the least.
“The moment I see that slimy little-” She started, however she was caught off guard. One of her opponents having been tossed through the air effortlessly. The man screamed forward, his frantic shouts ending in a weak little gasp.
“Oh Rey-Rey. Where pray tell would you be without me?” Red, and lots of it. The former threat clutched his throat, frantically trying to pry the force it’s self off his wind pipe.
Reyelri heaved a long sigh, a smile mirroring the speakers flashing over her features. “In a ditch my lord. Bleeding out in a ditch.” The man smirked, throwing her assailant into the line of fire.
Several of the crates Reyelri had previously used for cover rose up, slamming hard against anyone foolish enough not to move out of the way. Those who did move, were hunted down by the crates.
The red-skinned Sith lord seamed to take delight in this a moment. Tilting his head and bringing attention to a set of bejeweled rings that now decorated his crown of horns. Finally he turned his attention back to her.
“Forget any mission you had before now. I need your help...And You need a vacation.” He waggled a finger in front of her face. Causing the woman to snicker.
“I hear you. er, I mean YES! My lord Kasaud.”
It took a while to walk back to his ship. Especially when he rode around in the side car of a personal coach. Driven by his protocol droid. However, when it came to this particular sith lord, one just expected such things.
When they were finally on his ship. Finally in private, Reyelri heaved a long sigh, chasing glances in all the small vents, nooks, and crannies for anything like a mouse droid. Or a listening device.
“Relax would you? We’re aboard MY ship. Nothing gets in, or out. Not without my say so.” Kasaud waved a dismissive hand, moving to pour them both a drink.
Reyelri peeked into the glass he’d handed her with a small amount of concern. Even when with a close friend, she couldn’t really afford to let her guard down. Especially not around a sith lord.
It was in their nature to be wary around people. Assassination was a real possibility. Privately, she wished she’d been under any other profession. then she’d at least know Kasaud could trust her fully.
“I swear to you, it’s not poisoned.” He leaned casually on the table smirking.
Reyelri finally took a drink relaxing a few moments later, as the familiar burn of alcohol made it’s way down her throat. “Thank you m-”
“Oh drop the formalities. We’re aboard my ship. Remember? Besides, it’s not as though we have anything to hide. I’m not Jedi.” He laughed, Reyelri started to shake slightly. Finally coming down from her trained routine.
“Right...Sorry.” Her knees felt weak, she made her way over to a seat and just sort of existed there. Kasauds expression turned to concern.
“Hey, hey now. It’s okay. The moment has passed. And you got out alright.” He moved in front of her, holding her hands gently his his own. The velvet of his gloves smoothing over her skin a moment.
“I...I know but. This time it was-”
“No closer than last time. Come now, you were almost eaten alive a few times before this. Were a couple of blaster bolts really so bad?” One hand released hers and brushed lightly through her hair.
“At least with the beasts, it really isn’t anything personal.” Reyelri retorted. Kasauds features screwed up in confusion.
“Okay, bad example... What do you need? That seams like the better question.” He perked up, listening close.
“To hide someplace I’ll never be found.” Reyelri covered her head trying not to even look at him.
“Okay, get up.” She obeyed. Not out of anything like loyalty, or her training as an agent, but out of numbness. Sheer numbness. At this point, he could have told her to be a bantha and she’d at least attempt it. Just for the sake of doing something other than panic.
A soft warmth enveloped her shoulders a moment, followed by corded wool just brushing the exposed part of her back. “Kas-What?” She glanced down as the zipper of his robe pressed firmly against her chest.
“There! No safer hiding place than right in front of a sith lord!” Kasaud rested his chin on her head with a small smirk.
