slightly less depressing post?
i find it really interesting that my need and want to learn about things political in college has changed so quickly?
i actually enjoy reading about student debt and politics and the fight for equality nowadays (with limits, i have depression and these topics are depressing and i need to stop sometimes and that's OKAY)
but since i left my parents' house i've been picking up on the news and forming my own opinions more and more, and even with my new college classes, while these issues make my heart hurt and the stats make my head spin i actually enjoy reading about it and being more informed
maybe it's because i don't have to be scared anymore, or have my parents' opinions screaming in my mind that these articles are lying and mom's way is the only way and the only truth and everything else is sinful and clouded
it's just really weird but also really reassuring and i'm honestly super excited about it, i haven't been excited to learn things in a long time, much less things that don't typically/really interest me
(cause granted nothing will interest me as much as true crime and ghost stories and lost media and my other things i like to read about but that's also OKAY)
and i learn more and able to find the courage to fight and argue for what is right and have more educated conversations and just feel intelligent for once
anyway stream bo burnham's that funny feeling, i gotta go back to writing about career anxiety and student debt for gen z <3
