When God is gone and the Devil takes hold Who'll have mercy on your soul? Oh Death.
Remembered in history as one of the most eventful Games ever, the 64th Annual Hunger Games were set in an active deep sea oil rig, an environment that levelled the playing field for many of the tributes. Many of the tributes didn't know how to swim to the rig and climb the posts, let alone reach and Cornucopia without being washed away, or picked off by a fellow tribute. Those who did were fortunate, and while it certainly wasn't the most gruesome bloodbath, it was one of the most fatal. By the end of the first week only seven tributes remained; the pair from Two, the boy from Four, the girl from Seven, the boy from Eight, and surprisingly, the pair from Eleven. Offers of sponsorship flooded in from every direction for each tribute, but most of all, for the careers. It didn't help their cause when a muttation monstrosity Octopus, called a Kraken, crushed half the rig.
Explosions killed half the remaining tributes, the increasingly savage ocean taking them for it's own, and then there were just three. The boy from Four, the girl from Seven, and the boy from Eleven. After the career finished off the other boy he went after the girl, a small thing full of fear and desperation. No one expected the girl to win, least of all her mentors. Not when her hair got caught in the winch of the crane, or when he had her pinned, a knife to her throat. Not until she twisted a garrotte around his neck did anyone wish they had bet on Seven's girl.
I can't let go. I'm addicted to your torture. I'm a prisoner to the pain.

the moment you realize that your bones are made of the same dust as the planets, your lungs are breathing the same air as the migrating butterflies, and your blood is pumping because of the love and care of thousands;
is when you realize that you are not as broken as you think you are.
