Love Steady Tracks on god, so much symbolisms, angst, and potential silliness, my bitch ass can't contain all the silly things the two Skrunglies will get up to, brothers will be brothers regardless of llama god being weird.
Also, does Ingo have hoofs because Arceus? *Looks at Origin Palkia and Dialga* ((why did gamefreak choose centaurs???))
Might try and draw Ingo, but I can't do robots good ☠️
Thank you!!! I'm really really glad you like it, I've spent the last several years refining my outline for future chapters and developing the story so I am very excited to keep telling it! :D I hope to start writing chapter 3 soon, but I've been in a bit of a writing rut/burnout since posting the second one so that's thrown a bit of a wrench into things
Hopefully I can continue breaking up the character drama with these two fucked up guys getting to have some silly and delightful moments ^^ they are brothers, your honor. they will always be brothers, your honor.
Nope! Ingo's design has nothing to do with Arceus. This aspect of the design, as well as several others, are inspired by mountain goats extreme capability to traverse severe terrain!
On that note, Arceus really has nothing to do with this story, other than getting Ingo home. I realize the way I wrote the prologue makes them seem connected, but Arceus is not responsible for Ingo's transformation, as I've said in the past. When I said "Ingo's transformation will not be explained" in the fic tags, what I meant to say is you do not have the information to intuit the explanation within the narrative context right now. Arceus is not responsible, and i do not plan to explain what happened within the narrative. Outside the narrative, I am absolutely sure I will. But inside the narrative, you will not find the pieces you need to understand why Ingo is like this.
And the simple reason why is because why/how Ingo became this way is not what the story is about, has been about, or will ever be about. And why/how/if Ingo will transform back is also not what this story is about.
All that to say, please don't blame Arceus. I recognize I wrote the prologue poorly to come to that conclusion, and the evidence as presented is pretty cut and dry. But I wrote the prologue only after chapter 1 was mostly finished, and I wanted a way to lead into Emmet's story. I, unfortunately, did not think head about what that might imply about Arceus's involvement.
At least in steady tracks, and in most if not all other stories I've written, Arceus is not at fault for the events that have unfolded.
And, Arceus would gladly turn Station Master Ingo back if it could. But it can't.
Sorry to make that a whole ramble. It's been bothering me since the prologue was first posted (it's way too late for me to fix that) and this presented a good opportunity to bring it up, but it's not directly targeted at you or anyone else for that matter. Just something to keep in mind. I hope it will enrich people's experience with the story!
about the drawing: Dear fuck i understand i am so sorry. I barely know how to draw him myself. someday i'll finish that 3d model and it will make it a lot easier. In the meantime, just do your best and have fun and don't worry about it so much! It's not that much harder than drawing any other character (or STIngo isn't, at least.)
That is all <3 I hope you continue having fun with the story! There is a lot more symbolism in here, I hope I can get better at writing it.
Thank you for the ask as always!! 🤍⭐
