Steve in a sunny kitchen humming to himself as he cooks or washes dishes or does whatever he's doing, and you, walking up behind him and wrapping your arms around him, head resting against his shoulder or his back. Swaying slightly in time to whatever song he's humming - The warmth and the peace of that moment, suspended for a short eternity - only interrupted by his soft chuckle when, instead of allowing him to move freely, you move with him over to the fridge, unwilling to peel yourself away from him.
Steve Rogers, touch?
Touch
How are they with cuddling/holding hands?
If he’s close with someone and they have established that sort of thing, very comfortable I’d think, but I think it really depends and might take a while? I think Steve is very casually affectionate (shoulder presses, etc) but I think sustained contact is a build over time thing.
Do they like to be hugged?
Yeah! Again, not really with strangers, but with loved ones, for sure. Honestly I was very bleh about Age of Ultron, but his hug with Natasha at Peggy’s funeral was so lovely. Plus I’m sure he and Bucky hug OFTEN. And Sam, too. Steve is def A Hugger is he’s close with someone. And good hugs, too. Not a one-armed quick thing. A full on hug.
Do they fidget?
Oh I def think so. I think if he has something to fiddle with in his hands, he definitely will. I think it’s an anxiety outlet for him.
THIS SATURDAY, JULY 23!

Is Today be mad at Steve Day? I didn't genuinely get the memo but I think I would have slept in.
Of course I missed you, sweetheart. I had you on my mind all day. I probably would have picked Infinity War; I know you love daddy’s beard, don’t you? - Daddy Steve
Well, now you're just making me blush, that doesn't seem fair. 🤭
And you're right daddy, I do. Love it so much. The hair too. I was going to pick that one but then I got persuaded! I had a feeling that'd be the one you'd have picked. I feel like you'd prefer my thoughts to be on you and that glorious beard of yours all night. 🥴
headcanon that Steve basically had a whole pack of dogs who'd follow him around when he was growing up. Not because he fed them or anything, but because he would start fights about keeping other kids from being mean to them. The first time he came to with a shiner and a dog tongue on his face, Sarah told him they couldn't afford to keep his new friend, but that didn't stop the eventual dozen from hanging out outside to escort him whenever he left to go anywhere.
Oh my goooooddddddd I love this.
Steve is the defender of stray animals, sticking up for them when the other boys his age torment them for fun -- and often presenting a more appealing target anyhow.
He gets teased about his mangy menagerie -- “guess a bunch of flea-bitten mutts recognize one of their own!” “Must just be waiting for Rogers to drop dead since he’s all bones anyhow” -- but he can’t bring himself to shoo them off. Bucky thinks it’s funny, though he avoids petting any of Steve’s new friends after one time when he winds up bringing fleas home and gets reamed out by his ma.
One day though, Steve gets cornered in an alley by some bigger boys. It’s clear they mean to give Steve a beating, and he braces himself for the first blow -- only to hear a snarl and a cry of pain. He opens his eyes, and there’s a dog biting down on the lead boy’s arm, and a few more barking and growling a few paces away. His tormenters flee, screaming about rabies and disease, leaving Steve laughing and scratching his savior behind the ears.
(Steve spends all his pocket money that day on gristle and other scraps from the butcher, as a gift of gratitude for his friends.)
