What did I just read? I didn't hate it per se but oh dear that was something. I should have known from the first page that I was going to have problems. The first world is "Fuck", we go straight into dirt talk. You need to take that into account when reading it. It's not to my taste. As much as I like the sound of blurbs for the Steele Ranch series I after reading this just no. From what some of this is Vanessa Vale trademark (I'd never read any of hers).

There is a fine line between humour and sexist bullshit. This is right on that line at points, at other times it just is sexist at least for me. Although it is at least self-aware. Cord at a point refers to himself as a neanderthal, that is accurate. The two men claim her before they even meet her. I really would love to know would have happened if Kady had tried to leave them. It was never going to happen but still those boys were never going to let her go.

I really struggled with the characters. Cord and Riley are a lot, all dirty talk, thinking with their dick more than their heads and possession. Kady is resilient, but I do like that she gives as good as she gets. The smut is the focus, the plot is secondary. I really didn't like the sex either. It's one step off violent. The story such as it moves quickly from the start to the end of the story is 3 days.

There were some questionable character actions and author decisions. The writing wasn't fantastic, I saw quite a few editing errors. It feels lazy as well, leaning heavily on the cowboy imagery, type. If you view the characters as having free will I just think something wasn't right. There was some major contradiction in acceptance in the visual community and what is said by characters.
